Born Onyekachi Annuncia Chukwumah, Kachi inherited his love for music from his father, who constantly played classics from Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Brenda Fassie, Bob Marley, and others. Having nurtured a deep passion for music, the Afro-Gospel artist joined the children's choir at his church. There, he also showcased his talent by playing the drums. He also got inspired to write songs after listening to the child group Destiny Kids. He describes those days as his earliest memory of wanting to be a songwriter.

Kachi Annuncia decided to make music professionally in 2015 as an alternative to not being able to further his education. He cites artists such as Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, and Justin Bieber as influences.
