This is a song about my 2nd great grand-uncle, Jim Mickel, and his friend Moen Kofford, and Sherriff named Burns. I built the song based on family stories, newspaper clippings, and family history records. However, because newspapers sensationalized things, families are biased, and records are lost, I cannot guarantee that events happened just as I said they did, but then again, that's kind of the point of the song.
