KAFKA - Soundproof Trancemission 17 DJ Set [2014.08.16]

A good friend, resident DJ, label boss and founder of The Bunker NY, Bryan Kasenic doesn't usually need an introduction. We'd long seen his sorcery at the helm of the controls at numerous local gatherings, working dance floors with the precision only one with a few decades doing it could, what we'd yet to see was what he'd do on the 'ambient dance floor' i.e. Hypnotic Spa at Nowadays. Herein 96 minutes and 12 seconds attests to that query.  We had our eyes closed as we lied in the dark and dreamt sweet dreams. We recommend doing the same. Track list below. Enjoy the trip!

Morphine Records & Ominira affiliate & LaVibe DJ resident has got impeccable tastes focusing on a no boundaries selection. From Ambient, Noise, Bass Music with a touch of Traditional music, there are always surprises and special instants in Marylou’s mixes that have already gotten the likes of edgy festivals & platforms such as Terraforma, CTM or Intonal. By hosting two shows on Rinse France and Cashmere, she showcases her eclectic and vibrating sound and curates some incredible shows we have been following for quite some time now. Sharlese Metcalf got her start as a resident DJ of Seattle's goth industrial wave crew, Second Sight in 2012. Hosting shows at the iconic Electronic Tea Garden, Sharlese drew inspiration from her time there, and was introduced to Kate Moore who was commonly interested in very similar music. When Second Sight disbanded, Sharlese and Kate commenced with their first collaboration called Audiodrome at Pony, a minimal synth/coldwave focused night. After about a year together, Kate and Sharlese moved to Krewmerk and founded their current night, False Prophet. Sharlese is a connoisseur of music, DJs frequently around town and also works at KEXP 90.3 FM as the host of Mechanical Breakdown and is a rotating host on Expansions among many other contributions to the community.

Isidro Bolivar, who recently took part in the Madrid-based collective Calma, known for exploring less conventional and experienced sounds, brings to M4M02 his refined style, leading us through enigmatic and shadowy landscapes where liquid and pulsing rhythms encounter misty and riveting melodies.
