With over 2 years in the making, the debut of Luis Leon on Nie Wieder Schlafen feels like a long overdue salvation. The highly explorative mind of Luis has always fascinated us and while the right moment has taken it's time, his sound was always admired in some shape and form. At last, we were finally able to capture his vision in our framework, which allowed his sound to prosper with our collaborative touch. With incredible patience and careful selection throughout the last years of communication, Luis Leon's debut comes with the name of "My Ears Have Tears". 

The main title track strikes with a cinematic and pulsating bassline synth that sets an eerie tone for the production to move within. Transforming and almost liquid pads, filter through the mix and create broad soundscapes, that layer above the bassline, that is further supported by very wet shaker patterns and muffled texture compositions.

@Manjumasi’s 15th offering proves that slow and steady wins the race! Back in July, label mastermind @atish teamed up with San Francisco neighbor @BengalSF for the first time since a debut on @Kindisch. A third of the star studded “atish + friends” EP, “Tortoise” exhibited patient yet tactful intention with each serene stride. Making his production debut for the label, A&R lead @Naveen-G makes this an in-house affair. The New Yorker utilizes modularity in his remix's first and second movements, giving rise to a breakdown full of warm, soaring synths.

“There is one thing that I’m missing in my life most of all - the lost track of some French electronic collective that I listened to at the beginning of the year 2000. That lost composition was nailing my soul and piercing me through with such a deeply raw and very acid lead sound that totally drove me out of mind. I even think that this particular sound took me to the understanding that there is a black hole inside of us - listening to this track was such a long free fall. Since then I’m trying to recollect that huge sound experience in my production, trying to find the trigger to the floating Universe sounds. So 'Where Everything’s Ours’ is my attempt to touch you with the endless deepness multiplied by multilayered atmospheric scapes. And the sound that I crafted is right after the breakdown so that I’m literally telling you to take a step into the abyss…”

ELEFAN is the project the bassist and keyboard player Brieuc and the music composer and pianist Lionel, founded in 2019. The two Brussels-based professional musicians have developed a neo-classic inspired style which is rich in textures, heavy storytelling compositions full of unorthodox twists and turns and cinematic soundscapes. Their music forms interactions between the fields of electronica and techno, combined with classic acoustic instruments. With "Silent Space“ they self-released their debut EP early 2019. ELEFAN perform on stage and have already given several concerts in and around their hometown of Brussels. When we received their demo in autumn last year, we knew this would herald a new age for Connaisseur. 

After already having extracted "Blurry“ and "Bells“, we finally present the full "Origins EP“, including the two new titles "Pavement“ and "Six“. 

The cinematic "Pavement“ with its alluring strings, wild beats and sophisticated storytelling, sounds like it were made especially for Connaisseur and is an absolute highlight in our catalogue. 

"Six“ instead, just like „Bells“, masters the balancing act between neo-classic and techno, resulting in a highly intense piece of music.

Kendra Morris - Ride On (David Hasert & Dario Klein Remix) [IAMHER]

Belgian disco savants Rheinzand return with the second in a triptych of remix EPs. This one follows Obey Remixes, which came out Nov 6.

Kills & Kisses, the original track, comes off Rheinzand’s 2019 self-titled album and has been out as a single as well. The track was one of the more propulsive on the album with an almost micro-house sounding groove, driving down low, blossoming up top.

This bundle of remixes flow from that vein, expanding on the house angle of Rheinzand’s sound through the work of three fantastic artists.

Sicilian Musumeci aka Mauro di Martino tidies up the track and grooms that sweet, dreamy essence of the original into a timeless dance tune.

The Tel Aviv duo Red Axes’ deliver a more visceral take, stoking the bodily fires with deep, punchy bass and sharp staccato.

And last but not least, English-Japanese group Skylab deconstruct and almost perversely (in a good way) re-intensify the source material on a mesmeric trip to the chthonic planes of dance music.

The track also features as a special dub mix and instrumental version.
