This is maybe the first track I've ever released to SC featuring me playing guitar! Picking it back up a bit after a long break... I'm continuing to explore Ableton Live and it's inspiring me to think outside of my normal creative patterns.

After Un Programme was asked to perform at Vindöga-festival in Sandviken and Daniel bought two, almost identical, used toy accordions the idea to create this composition was born. Those looking for virtuoso accordion recordings will be surely disappointed - here you get bellowing soundscapes with looping beats, modular synths and jazz-infused organs. The live show at Vindöga was performed in 2023. This is the studio version with partially reworked material and split into separate tracks.

Un Programme - Elektriska varelser

The "Landnamabok" is a book of the land takeover of the first settlers in Iceland in the 9th century. The surviving book is from the 11th century and inspired me, who has never been to Iceland, to create an imaginary audio saga. A saga of heroic actors who resisted the adversities of nature and began to colonise the country. After they had mastered the crossing, each met different circumstances and had to overcome different challenges. The album also describes the other side of the wild, warlike Vikings, who penetrated America in search of a rural land. At the same time, it is an attempt to describe the relationship between man and nature and how they have shaped each other.

I had opportunity for the realisation of the compositions when I stayed as a guest for a week with a friend near Cologne, Germany, in a romantic little valley. From there also come the bird voices of the track “fuglaheimili”. Naturally, the genre for such a saga was ambient, or the more rhythmic dub ambient. Genres are boxes that are supposed to make thinking easier, but they prevent us from discovering new things in the spaces between. Instead, go on voyages of discovery like the Vikings and discover your own land.
