Captivate is a Canadian producer and DJ pushing deeply rooted yet forward thinking bass music. The emerging artist’s productions vary from dark, weighty and dubbed out halftime to frenetic footwork jungle hybrids, to lush ambient-infused bass music. His tracks always pay homage to 90's rave music but with a focus on fusing classic elements with lesser used rhythms. Now a familiar name across Canada, he has had the honour of playing shows and festivals across the country and has provided support for the likes of Fixate, Skeptical, AMIT and many more. His productions frequently appear in DJ sets from the likes of Om Unit, J:Kenzo, Doctor Jeep, Mat the Alien and other hard hitters, and have been released on respected labels such as Mystic State's The Chikara Project and longtime mentor Stranjah's Deviant Audio imprint. You can also find him live on The Beaumont Studios' bside.radio platform on the second Monday of every month 7-9 PM PST.

@djredlion Started spinning Jungle records in 1998 as a then student of DJ's King Pin, Leroy Brown and Quartz who later, along with Red Lion, formed the Royal City Jungle Alliance or ROCJA. Also in 1998, he began working (alongside some close friends) for Toronto's Lifeforce Industries. Aiding in the promotion and production of such legendary Toronto events as Connected, Freakin', Bittersweet, W.E.M.F. Lifeforce Fridays, Turbo Fridays, I-Dance and of course the Dose and Syrous Anniversary parties.
As an added treat @djredlion & @beatkittymusic are both headlining the Alien Influx  NYE party in Toronto alongside our first YESYES Radio guest @dnb-remedy

As the Honey & Bass Sessions return from a slight hiatus, it was only right to bring in one of my favourite DJs to land on my radar for a while. Nestled in the mountains of Alberta, Canada, Marissa aka Howl is not only an appreciated supporter of the blog but also a talented selector herself. From becoming one of the pillars in her local scene to recently opening for king of the Wave Sorsari, it's a great pleasure to have her on board! 
Howl brings a bumper 80 minutes of eclectic bass music. Journeying through both light and dark areas of Dubstep, to areas of Wave and Grime, we're taken on a roller coaster of emotions that at times become rather hypnotic. As well as reaching for some names familiar to the blog like @Glumeuk & @Phossauk, @Detusound, @Maessounds & @SBKdubs, she also introduces new names to the blog such as @Yedgar and @gloomysounds.
