Otherworld 2022

"The Death Song" is a mesmerizing, atmospheric electronic ballad, reimagining one of the earliest surviving poems of the English language, “Bede’s Death Song,” written circa 735 AD. With ethereal vocals and soft synths, this track is an intimate reflection on mortality, legacy, and the soul’s final journey.
Sung in Northumbrian dialect, this haunting piece connects the distant past with modern sound, blending history with contemporary electronic pop to create a song that lingers long after the final note.
Inspired by the themes of fate, reflection, and the unseen in Londinium Tales – Whispers of the Ashes, an urban fantasy novel where the echoes of the past still shape the present. Written by Michi Choo.
