Brooklyn-based DJ and producer @Ayesha lines up a four-track EP with @Scuffededrecs, channelling percussive techno, breaks, and bass. 

The Potential Energy EP bears all the hallmarks of the sonic universe that Ayesha has made her own on previous releases for the likes of Fever AM, Kindergarten Records, Control Freak, and Daytimers.

‘We Be Bubblin’ encapsulates Ayesha’s approach to sound design and sample selection, with playful bubbling sounds and vocodered vocals dancing over driving percussion.

We are back with Volume 94 of our mix series featuring Latin American bass producer and dj,  Jonathan Mendoza a.k.a Fourtwenty Sound! Born in
Caracas, Venezuela and currently based in Bogotá, Colombia, he has
focused his career on multi genres within Latin flavored bass music. With a
journey of 10 years contributing to the Latin American electronic scene he
has released music in labels such as Juke Bounce Werk, Armada Sounds, Aeronema, District160, Matraca, Nü Kvlture, B&H
Records, and Kumbalé, among others. His latest ep “Eso Es Pa Ti” was released

Boasting an impressive back-catalogue on XL, Tectonic and some of the biggest labels on the UK club circuit, we're super chuffed to be welcoming Hugo to the KAIZEN family.

Since shelling down KAIZEN KLUB 5 years ago at our early ‘Bussey Building’ raves, playing a stack of unreleased heaters that tore up the dancefloor, this alliance has been a longtime coming.

A1. Inexplicable
Euphoric textures and hypnotic female vocals ride a rolling 4x4 house beat. Lined with ethereal tones and an ambient interlude that crescendos into a restorative climax, this uplifting and transcendental exploration into the mind, body and soul, harnesses Massien’s ability to float between genres and realms.

A2. Outer Reach
A ‘hands-in-the-air’, feel-good breakbeat banger built for the Ravers. In a move reminiscent to some of Bicep’s biggest anthems, crackling with energy and old-skool jungle breaks that ride along warbling synths and chopped-up vocals, this explosive 130 club tool blends the rave with the ambient. A hybrid we’ve come to know and love in true Massien-fashion.

B1. Shimmer
Stripped back but chunked to the max, this 2-step wobbler thrives in the subs. Dark and dubby with a heavy and wonky bassline that shimmers throughout, this hefty B-Side is an assassin of its own. The musical equivalent of a British Bulldog looking you in the eye while salivating over a giant bone, it’s a sound tailor-made for dark spaces and big room moments.

Dead Trax proudly presents solla’s debut EP “nthat” (DDTX002): two club-ready tracks set at 135 BPM showcasing a unique sound based around intricate percussive work, granulated textures and omnipresent sub bass, always paying tribute to the dub influence which permeates the UK sound.

Born in Bristol, @solla-sound grew up immersed in diverse musical influences. Driven by a passion for sound exploration, he ventured into the world of synthesis and modular synthesizers, and has now progressed to programming VST plugins for his professional endeavours. With a vinyl release under his original alias SØL on the Karbanik Sound label, as well as several collaborative records with Harrta as Sabasonik, his work has appeared on labels such as Earth & Stone, Outhouse Sounds, and 786 Recordings. After moving to Montreal (Canada) and finding inspiration in the city's dynamic underground music scene, he continues to evolve his sound now under the ‘solla’ alias, all whilst retaining the distinctive influences from his Bristol roots.

DDTX002 will be out on March 7th 2024 via Bandcamp and all the usual digital platforms.
