Melodias E Choros is testament to Vanyfox’s ingeniousness–—seamlessly weaving together self-empowerment mantras, tender love ballads and defiant calls to resistance. This upcoming EP feels like Vanyfox is talking to different versions of himself across time—sorting through emotions, memories, and the moments that shaped him.

With lyrical and vocal contributions from Ana Moura, Martha Da’ro, and Lou Phelps—each artist brings their own distinct world into the mix. Ana Moura, the acclaimed Portuguese fadista admired by legends like Prince, Gilberto Gil, and The Rolling Stones, lends her haunting voice to a slow-burning track where deep bass lines and hypnotic rhythms echo the emotional depth she’s known for. Martha Da’ro, the genre-defying Belgian-Angolan artist, weaves her signature blend of bastardized R&B, electrosoul, and avant-garde blues into the project—channeling a presence that’s as raw as it is futuristic. Meanwhile, Lou Phelps—celebrated for his dynamic collaborations with Kaytranada—delivers his trademark flow with fresh intent, expanding his sound into new, unexpected territory.

Melodias E Choros marks a new chapter for Vanyfox—one where melancholy isn’t something to escape, but something to learn from. These reflections come to life through intricate drum patterns, deep basslines, immersive percussion, raw breaks, and richly textured vocals. “It’s about embracing the contradictions of life,” Vanyfox explains, “expressing gratitude for my achievements while also honoring the struggles that shaped me.”

Roughly translated from Portuguese, Na Zona means something like being in a specific place, occupying a zone and owning it — a fitting metaphor for Branko’s career as a DJ and producer exploring the global side of club music. But what happens when you can no longer occupy physical spaces to create a shared experience around club music? 

Enter Volume 2 of our Branko Presents: Enchufada Na Zona compilation series, where following the release of his sophomore album ‘Nosso’, the Enchufada founder curates a selection of original music from himself and some of his favourite artists, as well as a series of his own edits and remixes, all created during quarantine from home studios in Lisbon, Accra, São Paulo, London or Paris. With the club seeming like a distant memory, Branko puts forward a collection of songs more fitting to the times we live in and the physical space we get to enjoy them at: home. 

Alongside new music from the likes of Dengue Dengue Dengue, Studio Bros or Vanyfox, as well as his edits and remixes for artists such as Dino D’Santiago, DKVPZ or Gafacci, Branko presents a more melodic and introspective take on the always-evolving and warm-blooded rhythms of global club music, a product of every artist’s shared experience of creating and enjoying music in isolation.
