Inspired by several gigs in Morocco last months Gregor wanted to make a beat that would be perfect for his sets around the Mediterranean sea and the Middle East.
He started with the song Yalabeat but decided he wanted to add a message to the song and asked Dutch / Moroccan singer Teema to translate his words to Arabic and sing them.
The result is a new hybrid of an underground dance banger with traditional sounding vocals and drum and a spiritual message.

1Xtra gets new ReelWorld imaging for 2019

BBC Radio 1Xtra has kicked off 2019 with an updated set of IDs created by the team at ReelWorld.

The production company, a leading provider of imaging and jingles, has worked with 1Xtra to create 6 new custom IDs to ensure that the station’s imaging matches it’s varied urban playlist. They’ll be played in addition to two previous custom packages for the network. 
 
This latest collaboration features new authentic vocal talent alongside custom lyrics, written by the ReelWorld team, as well as original music compositions.

The update include four daytime themes based around the stations ‘On Air, On The Ground’ strapline, and two ‘Throwback’ themes.

Paul Fernley is ReelWorld’s European Sales Manager - “This latest update may be the best yet. The vocals are outstanding and the new imaging sounds as good as the music on 1Xtra’s playlist.”

The new imaging for BBC Radio 1Xtra follows recent ReelWorld projects for Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio Scotland. The company’s imaging and jingles can be heard on other public service broadcasters including Ireland’s RTE 2FM, Germany’s Bayern 3 and Norway’s NRK P1.
