Thank goodness for backups. I lost all of these tracks (exlcuding poorly mastered exports) in the winter of 2016, but thankfully I backed everything up on a 64gb microSD I could not locate after moving back to Toronto from Kitchener, Ontario for sometime. A lesson was learned.

I can't help but feel sometimes that we are living in a simulation that has been hacked. I know I don't need to reiterate the many ways in which recent events dating back to at least November 2016 feel surreal and absurd -- and increasingly so with each passing day. But we have learned that most of what has happened has been part of a process of revealing pre-existing issues and flaws in our society rather than acquiring new ones. And as this new consciousness spreads we have the opportunity to upgrade the operating system.

What does that look like? I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure it involves at least a few of these:
1. Putting a decent human being in the Oval Office. Having an actual leader with even the most basic moral compass will go a long way to mitigate the damage being done by the pandemic. (Register to vote ASAP at www.vote.gov)
2. Saving the environment from collapse. (Here are 101 ways to fight climate change: https://www.curbed.com/2017/6/7/15749900/how-to-stop-climate-change-actions)
3. Supporting Black lives and taking on proactive antiracist endeavors. (Start by supporting financially at http://blacklives.help and then ask yourself how you can use your unique platform to contribute to the cause of racial equity.)
4. Improving our social safety net. (Petition for continued/increased stimulus checks -- https://www.change.org/p/give-2000-month-to-every-american-moneyforthepeople-covid19 -- and continued federal unemployment assistance -- https://sign.moveon.org/petitions/extend-unemployment-600-per-week-additional-assistance-through-at-least-dec-31-2020.)
5. Eating vegan because not only does that help with #2 but it also reduces animal suffering and is very likely to be healthier for you as long as you supplement correctly: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/7-supplements-for-vegans.
