Three mixes within the pack, the original mix is a straight up house jacker which points towards early house music through the stabs and bassline which has an excellent spoken vocal layered over the top 'This Music We Like To Call House'.

Two remixes from 18-09 regulars, Patrick J and Damon Carter. Patrick J provides a jacking house remix which boarders towards the deeper edges of house, a perfect track for all sets. Damon Carters remix is a truely ambient house affair, making full use of the vocal and complimenting the vox with smooth pads and percussion.

For our next First Play we are premiering ‘Some What’ by Ave Astra, the boss of Istanbul based label Roit Recordings. Part of the four-track ‘Music Sounds Good’ EP, it is being released alongside another track from Astra on the A-side, and two songs on the B-side from Embezzlement Society.

‘Some What’ is a jacking piece of upfront tech house with instant dancefloor potential. On the track, Astra draws from a wide palette of sounds ranging from demented horns to heavily filtered snatches of vocals from UK garage MCs, displaying a playful streak that sets this recording apart.

Hailing from Krefeld, Germany producer (David) Platzdasch makes his Gents & Dandy’s debut with his Two Decades EP. The title, and material reflects on his 20 years of involvement in dance music culture.

Platzdasch’s musical history began in 1996 with the release of the project Silk City on MORE and continued with several solo releases partially under his alias David Martin. Followed by further records in the late 90’s on Honolulu United, Draft Recordings and Blaou Sounds.

In 2000 he founded Soul Glow together with Thomas Staats. Their work culminated in the release of the album We Come Along on Draft Recordings in 2003. After some years of a break in 2014 he got back into the game and just had a track released on a VA 12" by Masterworks Music.

Slip forward to current day, and Platzdasch presents some of his strongest, and most honest work to date. 4 cuts of deep, sophisticated house music with their foundations set in the past, but their eyes firmly on the future.
