I found this on an old hard drive and thought i should finally release this old dusty early work from the Spring of 2009. The Idea came to me to do a remix of this White Album Gem at a Vipassana retreat in 2009. As a huge fan of The Beatles, this was fun to create and play out in the early years especially at the Burn in 2011. Enjoy~

Annie J’s “Light My Own Fire” is a warm, anthemic pop-soul track that was inspired by the desire to overcome self-doubt. As the third single off of her forthcoming debut solo EP ‘Get Back,’ Annie fans the flame cultivated by years of establishing her rich voice as a leading presence in the Seattle music scene lending her talents to projects that include Seattle Rock Orchestra, 45th St. Brass, and the late blues legend Cedell Davis. Annie’s creative spark and thoughtful lyrics are kindled by collaborating with top-notch Seattle musicians including Andrew Vait (Sisters, Little Wins), Chris Littlefield (Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe), Nick Foster (Nick Foster Band), Scott Paul Johnson (Hot Bodies In Motion), and Stephanie Anne Johnson (the Hidogs). Along the same lineage as Dusty Springfield, Roberta Flack, and Solange, “Light My Own Fire” is a testament that Annie is poised to blaze a path of success as her warm delivery displays both nuanced control and playfulness as she executes rich vocal runs and a stunning range.
