surviving after carnival is an arduous mission. depression after life on the streets can only be alleviated by music! and it's not for nothing that we seek to bring this artist directly from Porto Alegre to inject spirit at this moment.

Mariana Hermel is based in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Along her six years of experience as a dj Mariana found in the alternative scene of the city her real passion for electronic music. Mariana likes to explore all sorts of rhythms in the world, rendering a truly sensitive audio experience to her high standard public. Currently Mariana plays as resident at of the main parties of the capital, performing in an innovative and strong way which creates a classic and out of time experience for her listeners. For this special set recorded for the label Tropicals Mariana tried to pulled out a piece of her musical identity bringing a dancing and dynamic experience.

That  man Neil Diablo from Manchester's El Diablo's Social Club is back again with another storming double header of disco delights. 'To Rack & Ruin Vol. 1', sold out in a matter of days, and we're expecting similar flying-off-the-shefness here too. 'Volume 2' sees Neil serving up a couple of obscure disco diggers finds that have been tried and tested on the dancefloor at El Diablo's, and proven to have reached club-favourite status. A-side track "Party" is one of those pop-rock disco gems you expect to turn up on an "Originals" CD compilation. Recorded by South African outfit Harari, the track features a simple mid-tempo disco groove that's layered with squelchy, efx-laden bass and clavinet gurgles. Once you hit the first big synth riffs you know you're in for a treat, and then the raw, soulful, but a bit kitsch vocals arrive and we do indeed have a party on our hands. Vocoder vocal interludes? Catchy female vocal harmony? Funky cowbell percussion? Rockin' disco rhythms? Boogie synth-bass? Patrick Cowley's 1981 anthem "Get A Little" has the lot, and then some. It's the kind of track that, when you hear it in a club, made you glad you got off the sofa and went out! A guaranteed party rockin' double A - limited as hell, and twice as hot!

Originally privately released in a modest run on bandleader Rudy Mills’ own  label U-Solo Records, the single features both the long and short versions of their devastating disco take on The Beginning of the End’s smash hit ‘Funky Nassau’, plus their own reggae funk slow jam ‘Love Misunderstood’.

With original copies selling for up to £500 on the second-hand market, Kalita now come to the rescue, offering a loud and remastered 12” single for all. In addition, the record is accompanied by extensive liner notes based on interviews with Rudy, and never before seen contemporary photos.
