Thom Rich returns to Manual Music with his brand-new single Brother Hermanos. A familiar name within the label family, Thom has previously delivered standout releases not only on Manual Music itself but also on its sister labels 90watts, Cinematique, and Blue Magenta. His last Manual Music outing, Hung Up On You, became one of his biggest tracks to date, and after nearly 2.5 years, the wait for new music on the imprint is finally over.

Brother Hermanos is a radiant, feel-good slice of melodic and progressive house, driven by an uplifting hook that stays with you from the very first listen. On remix duties, Mike Kohl infuses the track with a dreamy, organic house flow, while Federico Epis makes his return to the label with a deep and heady progressive rework.

Dem 1969 geborene Bremer wurde durch seinen Vater sozusagen die Musik in die Wiege gelegt. Beginn der 90er Jahre packte ihn das House- und Technofieber und die Freundschaft mit @oliver-huntemann bewegte ihn dann zu dem Entschluss, als Produzent zu arbeiten. Seit 2006 betreibt er sein Label @herzblut-recordings und ein Jahr später erscheint sein Debütalbum “Liebe Ist…”

INTERVIEW

1. How would you describe your sound?
“Hey guys, thanks for having me! So, I describe my sound like something really emotional, I try to put all my feelings in my tracks to explain my mood in the right moment. Between acoustic and electronic sounds, I try to have something based on the dancefloor and to have a  ‘dreamy taste’.”

2. How did you learn producing?
“I learnt music production by myself with some tutorials as a geek (lol), I am a guitar player for a long time so it’s something natural for me, I need to explain my emotions with the music.”

3. Dream collab?
“My dream collab.. mmh Moderat”.

4. What makes you laugh?
“Aha I am laughing everyday, every time, I am enjoying my life to be honest. This is a big chance to live this kind of crazy life, travel, have amazing meetings and perform in these beautiful countries all around the world.”

5. You in 10 years?
“Mh, to be honest I don’t know, but with my wife and my children, producing something different, maybe music movies. This is my dream all the time!”

6. What do you listen to besides electronic music?
“I am listening all kind of music: Classic, jazz, hip hop, pop music. But when I am producing I try to stop to listen to too much music because I don’t want to be inspired from something existing already.”

7. Most exciting club moment?
“Katerblau (Berlin), Bahrein (Buenos Aires), Hardpop (Juarez).”

8. Where would you love to play live?
“Timewarp and Awakening.”

9. What do you think about DIT KLINGT JUT?
“I love your press reviews, I am reading your work for a long time now, I was really interested to work with you.”

10. What makes dance music so special to you?
“Dance music is the one for me because the story of this music is just incredible. I am really interested about the whole culture from this music movement, I read so many reviews, articles, books of detroit, chicago debuts, I am  really really really passionate.”

11. What is your trademark?
“My trademark are my synths and melodies I think, and of course my taste for violins, strings and cellos instruments.”

12. Next release?
“My ‘Blisters’ EP on Einmusika in october with a fantastic Einmusik remix.”

Parquet Mixtape 21 by The Second Sense

Marco Thull and Philippe Bessel-Lorck aka The Second Sense are a Producer and Dj-Duo from Cologne, Germany. They have fallen in love with deep and melodic sounds and the Moog Synthesizer. On stage they prefer playing live with hardware. Each of them has a long history in electronic music producing and as live acts. They already released on  labels like Ostwind-Records and Datapunk and had their first release on Parquet Recordings "Scales" in August 2017. A couple weeks ago The Second Sense had their second release with us "Gate", which was a cooperation with the uprising duo Supacooks. Please welcome the two guys at Parquet Mixtape series and enjoy listening to their very delicate and exclusive mixtape.

Originally from Paris, Kalsx spent his youth learning violin and music theory in a conservatoire. In fond of science and artificial intelligence, he soon discovers a new interest for electronic music, which he appreciates both the abstract aspect and the countless possibilities it offers.

As time goes by, he is progressively driven by a strong desire to create and starts writing his first compositions at the age of 22. Inspired by several movements derived from techno music and his classical background, Kalsx develops a deep and eminently melodic style with pronounced psychological patterns. His music is the result of a work of introspection, between dreams and illusions.
