Ka'Mel Lauryn pronounced (Kah Mel Lah rhen) Birth name Kayla Amel McDaniel was born December 30th, 1996 in Baltimore , MD. She has been singing since the age of 4. Her late Grandmother(Granny Val) Valarie Robinson used to sing Billie Holiday's rendition of Summertime and that's the first song she learned to sing.
     Ka'Mel started her acting career at age 4 in her school's Christmas play where she played the part of an angel. She has had a knack for performing since then. In middle school she was apart of Baltimore's Reign Fall Dance Company and Generation Progress Theater Company at the Eubie Black Center.
      In 2009 she participated in the T.W.I.G.S. program at the Baltimore School of Performing Arts which further cultivated her musical talents. From 2010-2014 she took voice lessons at John Hopkins University's Peabody Music Conservatory under the instruction of Carol Cavey- Miles. 
      In high school she was a member of the New Lakeside Players of Megenthaler High School for 4 years where she participated in all of the productions. She served as President of the drama club, Assistant Director of productions, and Hair and Make Up Artist under the direction of Steven Holloway. In addition , Ka'Mel sang at many of the school's assemblies.
  
     In her college career Ka'Mel Lauryn resided in Baltimore City where she attended Morgan State University. She was member of Morgan's Choir under the direction of Dr. Eric Conway. She toured locally with Morgan's Choir some of  the performaces include performing with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra as well as the swearing in ceremony of Attorney General Lynch.
       She has  her Bachelors in Theater Arts  from Morgan under the direction and mentorship of Dr. Shirley Dunlap. At Theater Morgan she had the opportunity to write and produce  Theatre and Film Projects.

Currently she resides in Atlanta , GA . Where she is  a creative writes and records Music  and scripts . As well as Is a Host  and Blogger  for The Modern Crwd.  Here is the link to her work https://linktr.ee/kamel_lauryn.
