Eclectic Psychedelia Vol 2

Feel Life series continues with a talk with Scottish sound psyientist Hedflux, followed by his special mix for the show.

HEDFLUX is the main music project of Scottish-born DJ/Producer Steve Young. A life-long electronicmusic enthusiast, Steve has been spinning in clubs and festivals since before he was legally allowed enter them. Starting out in the early 90s golden era of rave, he went fromold-skool breaks to nu-skool breaks via happy hardcore and drum& bass, spending all his money on turntables, mixers and vinyl while changing his DJ namem ore often than his underwear. In the early naughties he developed a naughty relationship with psychedelic trance. Inspired by it’s smooth curves, other-worldly atmospheres, and an unrivalled ability to produce kaleidoscopic visions in the 3rd eye, he endeavoured to step up his production game and synthesize the ultimate heady dancemusic hybrid: psychedelic breaks! The debut Hedflux track “Music Is MyWeapon” was released in 2008 and this set the archetypal template for the next 5 years of music, during which time he released more than 30 records and performed across the UK, Europe, Australia and America.

Styx.Dj is born in a Saxon family in Sibiu, Transylvania. After the Romanian Revolution in 1989 he together with his family moved to Germany. Living in Munich, around mid 90s, he discovered his passion for music and started mixing, trying out different styles, from break beats, d’n’b to house, progressive techno, trance and even electro. Throughout his development in music styles, distinct trance elements have always been part of his sets while in the German-based Plasmamusic project. 
In 2000, he first went to Australia where he played vinyl at numerous of parties and festivals. There he met with Matteo Stroppa aka Loopus in Fabula who helped him deep-dive into the world of psychedelic trance and trippy, funky, groovy, oriental downbeats. He kept exploring all faces and tempos of trance. Now his sets can range from Goa trance, progressive, forest trance sets with a funky touch as well as alternative trippy downbeats like chill-out, bass music, glitch-hop, etc. 
When he got back to Germany, he traveled around festivals with SchmoX chai shop as a resident DJ and took part in setting up the SchmoX-Family project at Nachtwerk Club in Munich. In 2004, he organized the first Transylvania Calling festival in Vulcan, Brasov county of Romania, and co-founded the funkadelic record label Fabula Records in Italy together with Matteo Stroppa. In 2010, after working at Universo Parallelo, he joined the Brazilian label Uroboros Records and in 2014 - the Croatian label Soundmute Recordings. 
Styx played at many festivals and parties in over 30 countries around the world. Some of the most influential amongst them were Exodus in Australia (2003), Elixiria in Finland (2004), Solar Eclipse Festival in Turkey(2006), BOOM Festival after-party named Utopia in Portugal (2006, 2008), Universo Paralello in Brazil (2009), Popol Vuh in Mexico (2012),  Tribal Gathering in Panama (2013), Funny Moon (2013 - 2018) in the Czech Republic, and of course his legendary 7-10 hour sets at Transylvania Calling festivals. 
In Romania, he was a pioneer to bring electronic and psychedelic music to the country, organising and supporting countless parties and festivals. His EcoWarriors project was launched in 2006 to promote conscious attitude to nature, through organizing multiple trash collection events in Romania's parks and valleys usually accompanied by parties. In 2010 and 2011, he co-organized the Fusion Festival Romania.  He is the main organizer of the Transylvania Calling Festival, which calls for the tribes from dozens of countries around the world to join for 7 days of wonderland under the full moon to celebrate life through dance, music, spirituality workshops, and arts.

This is about Kanc Cover, a DJ & producer from Serbia. He started amateurish with music production in 1995. First formed project was X-Raything. In 1997, he started with first releases for radio show "Fractal" Technokratia (Sound Galaxy).

In 2002/03 Kanc released two demos with ambient sound, under the names "SloWaves" & "Nature Forme" and year after he released many ambient singles. Serious work on parties, Kanc acquires in the year 2000. First biggest performance was in 2004 on big club festival "Transplant" under the organization Technokratia and "Organica 2005" New Year festival under the production by Organic Landscape community.

After he joined the Goasia project, he played on international festival "EXIT" episode 5 in Novi Sad, Serbia. After that performance and headstrong managing of "SoundMute" artists’ community headchief, Lara Krumpl, Kanc continues with performing in former Yugoslavian republic (Macedonia, Slovenia, Croatia...). In the beginning of 2006, he signed for ambiental record label "Cosmicleaf.com" record and during the 2006, under the influence of variability in electronic music, he founded his night-tech-progress project "Orbital Psy" also known as "OPSY". 2007 brings him a world tour, where he presented his new work and long time experience. He performed all over the globe. Some of the most important performance is achieved at events such as JZ Trance crew events in Tokyo in clubs like "Ageha", two times in Box stage and two times at Arena main stage. Then club "Cube 326", interesting performance with DJ set in Quintrix CD shop at Shibuya and open air events at IZU island and Namesawa party camp. Club "B1 Maximum" in Moscow with Positivemakers. Huge festivals like Aurora, Antaris Project, Universo Paralello, Transylvania Calling, Samsara, Freedom Power vol.3 and 4,  Misterika festival, Cosmic Gate, Shivaneris Easter Sao Paulo, Aurora 2012 Salvador, Earthdance Festival Sao Paulo, Grande Familia Brasilia, etc...

In a last two years he released 3 great ambient DJ sets on DI.FM and Fluid Audio with jingle support of Charles Farewell aka Asura, Daniel Segerstad from Carbon Based Lifeforms and Magnus Birgersson aka Solar Fields and 2 techno trance DJ sets on Ravevox with Ariel Electron from X-Dream and Prime Suspect. Also have a constantly radio performances on DI.FM with series of Winter Solstice ambient sets and Summer Solstice dancefloor orientated tunes, hosted by DJ Shoom.
Probably the most interesting single that Kanc made is actually ambient rework on Man With No Name's trance hit "Sugar Rush" with the Martin Freeland's "blessing". Beside that, Kanc work on tracks with many more artists, and from ambient names that was Koan, Side Liner, Zero Cult, Magnetik, and some of then will stay undercover until he publish all upcoming material. 

Somewhere in the middle of 2008 he runs with his manager and wife, Lara Krumpl, an electronic music label based on techno trance and downtempo music, called www.soundmute-recordings.com

As an artist, with his different projects, he also signed for "Divine Balance", "Psychedelic", "Kagdila", "Ektoplazm", "Horns and Hoofs", "Nachtstrom Schallplatten", "Digital Diamonds",  "Altar", "Zenon","Unicorn Music" and many more. On "Suntrip Records" he  released Goasia first album "From Other Spaces", on Dimensionl records second album, with his project colleague, Balint Tihamer.

Opsy first album was published on Soundmute Recordings and at the moment he prepare material with Balint Tihamer for publishing 3rd Goasia studio album on Suntrip records. Rezolut techno project with his friend and partner Miroslav Bako from Man Machine and Excizen in still in developing phase.
Ambient album and releases from Kanc Cover you can expect very soon. There is enough material that wait for publishing. Also a bunch a new recorded DJ sets from a lot of different electronic music styles in which you can try to find your self.
