Kaniela Ing is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer who works a community organizer in Hawaii.

Kaniela started playing ukulele at 10 years old, learning Jake Shimabukuro songs by ear. In high school, he picked up guitar, bass, and piano, and wrote his senior-project on “The History of Political Music in Hawaii” – then studied music and political science in college. 

During his 20's, Kaniela was elected as a state legislator, where he led fights against oligarchs, polluters, and colonizers in Hawaii — his native home. He continues to give his heart and soul to the movement. After almost a decade hiatus from writing and performing new music, Kaniela is taking his movement and life experiences full-circle back into his music.
