Butch le Butch is a Melbourne based DJ nerd playing underground disco, long forgotten gems and memorable selections reworked for today’s dance floors. He is one of the residents at Melbourne underground disco night 'Bruno'.
His remixes of Madonna, Dolly Parton, Cerrone & Dua Lipa (to name a few) have been played across the world by the likes of Honey Dijon, The Blessed Madonna, Prosumer, Boris Dlugosch and DJ Sneak. He has supported Dave Lee, DJ Spen, Horse Meat Disco, Dimitri from Paris, Purple Disco Machine, Boy George, DJ Heather and Moby and played at events such as Midsumma, Summer Camp, Sydney Mardi Gras, Lavandaze and New York's 'Hot For You' party.

Aroop Roy is a producer, musician and label head, who joins the dots between electronic music and borderless organic sounds. From house, garage and techno to jazz, disco and global rhythms, he has enjoyed universal acclaim as a producer and DJ.
Aroop's sets are full of personality, style and infectious groove, earning him a growing reputation as a uniquely gifted DJ. In the last few years, he has been enjoying huge momentum, causing wild scenes at places like Fabric, Koko and Hi Ibiza and lighting up festivals including Defected Croatia, Lost Village, Worldwide and We Out Here. He is a resident for Defected Broadcasting House and has recorded guest mixes for the likes of BBC, NTS, Rinse and Jazz FM.

Showcasing his skills as digger and tastemaker, Aroop's label Vive La Musique reissues and reworks rare eclectic sounds from around the world, from Caribbean Zouk and Congolese Rumba to French jazz-fusion and South African soul. The catalogue has been celebrated by tastemakers across the scene with the recent offering "In the Fast Lane" receiving rave reviews for uncovering the historical connections between French virtuoso Jean-Luc Ponty and the Detroit techno movement.

For almost 20 years, James Steer has consistently and unassumingly contributed to the after-hours soundtrack of Melbourne. Well respected within the underground Melbourne DJ community, James has built a reputation as a selector who deftly balances exquisite taste with technical execution. James cut his teeth as one of the founders of the legendary Deep Chord Melbourne parties in the early noughties, showcasing the emerging deep minimal sounds of the time to an eager and receptive audience. The party started off as an intimate affair in the confines of the upstairs space of Pony Bar (later Boney), before finding a true home in the legendary basement space of the Mercat Cross. Since then, James has regularly graced the decks at some of Melbourne’s most iconic nightspots, equally adept at delivering funk and disco laden suppertime soundtracks as heaving excursions into deep dance floor dynamics. Drawing from a vast, genre-defying collection, James’ sets offer the listener/dancer a guided tour through the fundamentals of depth, always evolving and never stagnant, a glimpse into the now, with a respectful nod to what’s come before.

Active on the scene since the late 80s, Tony Anderson has built a reputation as one of London’s underground heroes and an inimitable record collector of everything from Disco to Electro. A driving force in the world of pirate radio, Anderson’s shows on pioneering stations such as Atmosphere FM, Centre Force, House Fm and Unknown FM are the stuff of legend, fusing a variety of styles and genres to showcase the kind of oddities, rarities and classics that only 35+ years deep in the game can unearth.

These radio shows lead to high profile residencies at Retro-Vert, Split, WayBackWhen and String Free plus gigs around Europe as part of the Essex Rascal collective (also featuring Ben Sims, Mark Broom and Paul Mac). The eclectic foursome have also ventured into the world of edits with their self titled ‘Essex Rascals’ and “Way Back Wednesday’ labels, the latter named after their notorious radio show which ran on Deepfrequency.com, guested on 1BTN and NTSlive and is now finally back on the airwaves with a regular slot on Totally Wired Radio.

No stranger to the studio, Tony’s productions have graced both Theory Recordings and his own Serenity Recordings, masterfully weaving the rawness of early Chicago House with the forward thinking grooves of luminaries such as Theo Parrish and Moodymann. Currently working on a new batch of hot low slung Acidic gems and a soundtrack inspired edit series, expect to see new heat from Mr Anderson in your favourite record emporium soon.

I started DJ'ing in 1987, am 50% of Optimo (Espacio) and I also run the Optimo Music record label.
