Filipe Dias is the man behind Synthom. Even with a rich musical background from more conservative music classes, classical music and an extensive range of instruments to playing in garage rock bands with hip-hop, punk and metal influences, Psy Trance is the blood that runs through his veins…

It was around the age of 16 when the true connection was made, when Psy Trance first came to Portugal…
A passion for electronic music was instantly born. In 2000 at the age of 21 he first started working with computer technology and synthesizers. He was, and very much still is absolutely fascinated by the creative process, the construction of many details and the power that this music has to create higher states of being. Through early experimentation with various styles he came to produce what he describes as “a combination of powerful technological and futuristic sounds, with deep, driving and hypnotic leads that will transport you into a vortex of energy and creativity”... 

From the first humans, and for many aeons, most tribes that have existed across the world have used story-telling to convey their history, cultural traditions and personal journey. This was achieved through various artistic means, be it rock painting, the written word or sitting around a fire listening to an elder’s account of a situation or pivotal time in their history. Music has also often been used to convey a very personal, social or cultural message, and similarly Synthom is showing us a small part of his journey, telling his story through this brand new EP titled Untold. A peek into the not so distant future, and a direction for his extensive creative talents that he has honed over the last two decades he has been making music…
