Mix Theory 005 - Josh Butler

Kaoz Theory is the iconic record label founded by house music pioneer Kerri Chandler. Established as a creative home for forward-thinking house music, Kaoz Theory consistently champions authenticity, deep grooves, and innovative sounds from both legendary figures and emerging talents in underground electronic music. The label remains dedicated to preserving the true spirit of house, connecting generations of dance music lovers through releases that are soulful, timeless, and rooted in the underground.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Colin Patrick is a product of the rust belt through and through. He has been making mixtapes for friends and collecting music of all genres since he was a young kid. It was this passion early on, and the ability to play piano and guitar, that laid the foundation for what would eventually blossom into a love for electronic music. As a photographer, Colin naturally gravitated towards shooting concerts often as the infectious energy of the dance floor became something he couldn’t get enough of. After discovering house music in 2014, Colin spent the following years chasing the sounds he loved across many major cities throughout the world. Chicago, Detroit, and Amsterdam all made their mark on his musical preferences, but it was the late nights at warehouse raves, clubs, and after-hours events in the 716 where Colin really cut his teeth and honed in his personal sound. The last couple of years have seen Colin become somewhat of a regular in the Buffalo house and techno scene, while his first official production dropped in October of 2020.
