Hollywood Blanks is a Baltimore rock band formed in 2012. Current members are Jimmy O'Keefe (vocals, guitar, lyrics), Rich Koln (bass, vocals, ethereal sounds), Trevor Shipley (keys, organ, synth, guitar, drones, vocals) and Scott James (core energy, drums). 
The band combines a dynamic, soulful, heavy, atmospheric, acid rock sound with deadpan, anxious, reached-the-end-of-your-rope, bedroom-recording-style folk lyrics. It's as if Townes Van Zandt had a vision to critique American culture by writing apocalyptic metal songs akin to Black Sabbath, while also giving more than a tip of the hat to The Doors and David Bowie. 
The catalyst was their 2015 debut album, Projections, which they self-produced and released on vinyl and bandcamp. But anyone that has seen one of their shows knows that their unique potion of sounds and vibes has only become more potent and more refined by their live performances. They look forward to transferring this energy into their next single, which will feature songs that they have been performing regionally since the band began booking with Leesta Vall.
