TEN MILES OF BAD ROAD performed by Portland, OR based Karen Lovely features 13 outstanding tracks of original Contemporary Blues. Produced by Grammy Winner Tony Braunagel, the album includes a heavy hitting group of award winning LA session musicians. Johnny Lee Schell  (Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal), plays some seriously spooky guitar and burns his classic signature style on to half the tracks while holding down the engineering, as well. James "Hutch" Hutchinson (Bonnie Raitt) brings his fluid, funky, musical style of bass playing, providing a rich bottom and cleverly orchestrated feel to the album. 

On piano and B3, Jim Pugh (Robert Cray) adds a great touch to all of Karen’s songs - funky, tight, and sensitive on the ballads. Producer Tony Braunagel plays drums and percussion with the same passion and flair that has graced the albums of artists like (Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal and Robert Cray). 

Also lending some nasty grooves and plenty of grease, Alan Mirikitani on guitar, with bassist Reggie McBride (Keb Mo), Kim Wilson of the Fabulous Thunderbirds on harp. The hauntingly beautiful background vocals of Melodye Perry, Julie Delgado and Kenna Ramsey capture the atmosphere, while Joe Sublett's saxophone and Les Lovitt's trumpet add some deliciously voiced horn parts to the title track.
