Fusion + 20 years Bachstelzen <3

Michi and I were set and ready to take over from Mimi Love @spreedelay, but during our third track, our mixer unexpectedly dropped out. It was a bumpy start, but once we switched over to the backup mixer, everything took off and what a ride it turned into! We decided to keep the recording as it was: raw, real, and true to the live experience. Sometimes these little curveballs are just part of the journey.

The photo perfectly captures how we prep our sets—and also explains why our backs and shoulders are always in recovery mode! 😂 (Thank you, Em, for the snap!)

A heartfelt thank you to the entire @bachstelzen crew and Fusion for having us, to the producers behind the tracks, the sound techs, our amazing friends who held space for us, and every dancer and twerker who shared the moment on the floor.

@madmotormiquel, thank you for your constant support, and for being the best samba dancer and twerker a Brazilian could dream of!

P.S. This year marked Fusion’s 26th anniversary and Bachstelzen’s 20th. These collectives have shaped and inspired generations of ravers, myself included. I truly wouldn’t be who I am today without them. Happy birthday, and here’s to many more years of magic!

❣️ Obwohl nicht alles so lief wie ich es mir gewünscht habe, wollte ich mein Set vom Mystic Creatures Festival trotzdem mit euch teilen:

Anfangs fiel es mir soo schwer, mich nach zwei Wochen Aufbau, Work-Mode und Gewusel, in den Moment fallen zu lassen. Meine Gedanken waren wild auf der Insel verstreut und ich hatte Startschwierigkeiten mit der Lautstärke-Regulierung, ein paar Patzer an den Reglern inklusive. 🫠 
Trotzdem kamen immer mehr freudestrahlende Gesichter auf dem Floor dazu, meine Friends und Mystic Gang ganz vorne mit dabei. Dieser Anblick vor dem Karussell hat mir so viel Halt gegeben, ich sehs immernoch vor mir! ❤️‍🔥 

Dank der liebsten Crew vom Circus und Artistcare wurden Soundpbleme schnell geregelt und meine Sorgen weggezaubert. Wieder habe ich mich in die Stage und Atmosphäre dort verliebt & hatte so viel Spaß dabei, mit all den bouncenden, glücklichen Mystic Creatures zu feiern und tanzen.🧚‍♂️😍💚 

An meine Friends geht ein besonders großer Dank, ihr seid einfach die Allersüßesten. Ihr fangt mich auf, versteht mich, seid immer da (vorne links stabil!) und supported mich in allen Situationen so bezaubernd. 👯‍♂️ Ihr nickt mir vom Floor aus zu, tanzt mit mir in der Booth & versorgt mich bestens mit Schnaps, Rauch und Liebe. Ganz viel Liebe zurück!! ❣️

Noch bis zum Ende der Abbauwoche erreichte mich persönlich so viel liebes Feedback, dass ich mehrmals ganz rot wurde vor lauter Herzrasen. 🥹❤️‍🔥 Manche drehten Freitag Nachmittag die erste Runde auf der Insel und landeten zufällig im Karussell, andere hatten meine playtime eingeplant und erschienen vorbildlich pünktlich. So oder so habt ihr mir oft gesagt, dass wir in diesen zwei Stunden auf verschiedenste Art, wunderschön zusammen in das Festival gestartet sind. 🫂

Ich bin unendlich dankbar dass eure Energie und Stimmung, auch für mich das diesjährige Mystic eingeleitet und versüßt hat! 

Danke Mystic Family, dass wir die Madness zusammen durchstehen und zum dritten Mal ein unvorstellbares, mystisches Paradies auf der Insel gezaubert haben.

Uuugh what a trip! After one year of waiting and anticipating, we returned to the mystic island and to our beloved Funky Float. After 10days of intense buildup, we as a crew had the privilege to play after each other on saturday (my playtime being 18-20) and showcase what we feel is right for our floor.
Eventhough it turned out to be one of the grayest days of the entire time, the vibes were strong. And as ordered, the clouds broke up right on time and presented us one of the most beautiful and mesmerizing sunsets, which resulted in my most memorable and special gig so far. It felt like all the hard work and love my crew put in this project, finally paid off, and half the festival was there to witness the magic of this moment.
Thousand thanks to everybody involved. This was a dream come true!

Hailing from Hong Kong, there are few areas of this community that both Mr. Ho and his Klasse Wrecks imprint have not influenced. Nach einer etwas längeren Pause in unserer Podcastreihe begrüßen wir heute Xia Ke aus Shanghai. Der sympathische Producer, DJ und Labelbetreiber mit dem Hang zu organischen Klängen im deepen Downtempogewand ist uns bereits vor einiger Zeit aufgefallen. Seine Mixe bestechen durch eine große Dichte an Atmosphäre, welche durch überwiegend cineastische Übergänge erzeugt wird. Quasi ein Sound der auch gut zu unserer Reihe passt. Ein wenig angepasst hat er diesen aber trotzdem. aber hört selber und findet den Unterschied. 

Tausend Dand Xia für diese feine Reise ins Dickicht der organischen Afterhour.

After a slightly longer break in our podcast series, we welcome Xia Ke from Shanghai today. We noticed this likeable producer, DJ, and label owner with a penchant for organic sounds in deep downtempo guise some time ago. His mixes captivate with their dense atmosphere, which is created predominantly by cinematic transitions. It's a sound that fits well with our series. He has adapted it a little, though. But listen for yourself and see if you can spot the difference.

Chill, moody, slightly danceable and meditateable. 

✘ Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?
It's a set prepared for our upcoming label tour. I want to illustrate a more moody downtempo soundscape to the Chinese local audiences. There are also some great productions from my label Autumn Equinox.
