Digid was always interested in music from a young age. He started playing the guitar at 8 years old. Heavy guitar music dominated his young life until he discovered drum & bass in high school. In college he got infected by the dubstep virus and this had a big influence on his own music style. Like a lot of people he was messing around with music production. His productions got noticed and signed b...y record labels like New World Audio, Warriorz Records, Mindstep Music,... Lately he's not sticking to one genre anymore, inspired by Jamaican music, he's producing Dub/Reggae, Digital Dub, Future Bass,... Music with the roots of bass music is the key element. You can expect a versatile mixture of productions nowadays to keep making fresh and exciting music.

Pupa Vinylist is a french reggae-lover who lives for many years in Germany. With a few friends he founded the Rebelion Soundsystem in a town called Dubstadt, where they are responsible for some of the heaviest sessions in the region with many well-established artists like Mungo's Hi Fi, Cultural Warriors, Jahtari, Subactive and Riddim Tuffa among many others.

He selects all kind of soundsystem styles from the late 60s to modern production but his favorite era is still the early 80s where Deejays “rubbed” the dubs in the yards they called dancehalls, bringing their skills over old Studio One classics, played all night long on self-build but heavy Soundsystems.

With this mixtape he wants to share his love for this very raw sound through a versatile selection, from Channel One rub a dub classics toward to the early digital productions.

Sometimes strong talent demands quick follow-ups, and when Liondub International and Adam Prescott first linked with “Technique” they wasted no time in making a strong move to secure more of the heavyweight sound from this producer. Featuring an all-star cast of Reggae artists including Sugar Minott (RIP), Ranking Joe, Johnny Osbourne, Jahdan Blakkamore, Metric Man, and Junior Dangerous, “Heavenless Riddim Story” presents a modern take on the classic one riddim album, packed with pressure from top vocal talent. The original “Heavenless Version” falls between digi-dub and dubstep, with low-bit sound effects, classic brittle dancehall drums and fat bass, and the producer subtly flips the riddim in different directions for each new version. Jahdan’s “No Bad Vibes” shows off his versatile deejaying while distorted bass billows out from underneath, while Johnny Osbourne’ “Dubplate Medley” borrows portions of his famous passages drawn through a heavy haze of effects which has garnered worldwide support from luminaries like David Rodigan and Iration Steppas. Both Junior Dangerous and Ranking Joe summon classic dancehall style when they flex, with Dangerous taking the more aggressive route while Joe twists his tongue and shouts in his fine style; Metric Man and Pad Anthony deploy contrasting sing-jay styles over two of the more drastic reworks of the riddim. Finally, the dearly departed guest of honor is Sugar Minott, whose “Soundboy Killing” strips the version back to foreground bass and percussion and leaves the focus clearly on his inimitable vocal style.  With eight distinctive interpretations from Prescott and a clutch of roots’ and contemporary reggae’s best vocal performers, “Heavenless Riddim Story” unites generations in the dancehall with fresh sounds from one of today’s most promising upcoming talents.

This time we teamed up with two great upcoming talents from the new era of Digital / Rub a Dub reggae; we are talking about the young producer from Devon (UK), Interrupt and the new Spanish phenomenon Ponchita Peligros.

This EP is composed of six tracks, two vocal cuts with the sweet melodic voice of Ponchita accompanied by Interrupt’s riddims plus two remixes of Cutty Ranbs and Michael Prophet feat Ricky Tuffy by Interrupt.

Interrupt has been producing Reggae since 2012. Inspired by the digital Reggae style of the late 1980s where his obsessions inspired him to start creating his own riddims using a CZ-101 keyboard, making his own remixes of popular reggae tunes. In 2013 he released his first EP with Spanish singer George Palmer in a Rubadub Style, which proved to be a big success, promoting both artists and paving the way for many more collaborations and musical endeavours. Upbeat vibes, old-school drum machines, bold bass lines and colourful synthesisers are what define Interrupt’s unique production style.

Ponchita Peligros is a Spanish rub a dub DJ/MC that has turned out as one of the biggest artists of her country. Her style is characterised by her sweet voice and her fun and creative DJ style that brings us back to the 1980s. After releasing her first solo album playing sax and singing in 2008, Ponchita has focused on singing Rub-a-dub in Soundsystem dances and has been collaborating with sounds and producers from all over the world. In June 2014 Scotch Bonnet Records released her first 7" vinyl and after a complete sell-out Ponchita and Stalawa came back again last December with a second 7" release made for the Rub a Dub lovers all over the world ina "Different Style.
