Staying true to one's signature style, but at the same time re-inventing oneself again and again and again: A serious dilemma for many artists. However, it's not for Dole & Kom. Their Salto Mortale EP comes with three productions that are similar yet very different to each other in a fascinating way. The similarity is very sublime, as it seems like pressure and forward thrust evolve out of the context rather than prominent rhythms and sounds. Whereas the atmospheres of the tracks differ greatly. Salto Mortale is based on a voluminous bass line around which delirious melodies materialize from a vortex of sound. Silence comes with symphonic grace and big emotions. When the melancholic beauty of a female voice joins in the whole thing turns into pure epicness. Then again theres Fly Bar which draws its perfidious catchiness from a smart mix of high-octane club grooves and a high amount of sophisticated musicality. Some times the music just magically comes out, and that is the case here with "Syria" by new Sol*Selectas artist Unders from Amsterdam. After several successful tunes above the 120 BPM mark on labels like Sincopat and Groove On, "Syria" was Unders' first attempt at slower grooves, and an accidental experiment that just "fell into place, and was automatic magic". Syria's current political unrest is all over the news and social media, and the story being painted is difficult to watch. Driven to create a song which goes against all the negative publicity, Unders says "between all the negativity, the more i looked into the situation, the country, its people and its culture, the more this track reminded me of so much beauty the media doesn’t portray." The song itself a slow minimal trip with chopped up guitar licks, a gorgeous flute sample that takes the listener to far off desert lands, and features the vocals of Veerle.  Satori is yet another up and coming producer from the Netherlands, gaining instant recognition sharing the stage and studio with Acid Pauli, and producing incredible tunes utilizing live instruments played by himself, and tastefully incorporating these with electronic elements. His remix preserves the original message of "Syria" lowering the BPM to an even more hypnotic 104 BPMs. Satori adds middle eastern strings and chords, swapping out the original vocal for a more Saharan inspired call, and even plays delicately with some acid sounds furthering the listeners journey.  
Both songs are meant to invoke peaceful images of Syria, and conjure up positive intention on the dance floor. Sol*Selectas is very excited to present the debut song "Syria" from Unders, and the amazing remix by Satori,  two artists from the Netherlands you would do well to keep your eyes and ears open to in 2016.

Das zweite Release des noch jungen Labels @delightsearthly steht in den Startlöchern. Um kulturelle und vielfältige Musik zu veröffentlichen, haben sich die Macher für eine EP des Kanadiers @kora-musique, der bereits auf Kindisch publizierte, entschieden. Am 16. Januar 2017 soll seine Deep-House-Kollektion „Fragile“ in digitaler Version erscheinen. Gleich der Opener der EP, „Vayu“, ist ein wunderschön strukturiertes Werk geworden, das von einer melodischen Wärme überschwemmt wird. Kora zeigt mit der Produktion eine gewisse Leichtigkeit und eine zarte Annäherung an Drums, während arabischer Gesang die Nummer abrundet. (...) Ein Remix kommt von @timur-sardarov alias Timujin. Man O To from the elusive producer NU is finally set to be released as a single on Crosstown Rebels. Since its inclusion on Acid Pauli’s Get Lost Compilation in 2012 the track has clocked up tens of millions of Youtube hits and now heralds in a much coveted artist album due later this year. Remix treatment comes from Parisian producer ​Pépé Bradock and live artist Be Svendsen.

A nomad of modern times, ​NU​ has travelled the continents with his diverse music to unearth his imitable style. Repres​ented heavily in ​Man O To, where instruments amalgamate with electronic production to become solid rhythms. An extra spark come from its lyrics, outtakes from an old Persian poem from the well known poet Rumi, who speaks of true happiness in love here performed by Ghazal Shakeri from an original recording made by renowned French composer Armand Amar.

Julien Auger aka ​Pépé Bradock​ is a widely respected producer best known for his anthemic releases on French label Kif Recordings which are still sampled heavily to this day. As a DJ, he has spun in almost every major club in the world and is known for his versatile, and mesmerising style. Bradock conjures a trippy remix and dub version of ​Man O To and fitting ode to the original.

Be Svendsen​ aka Lasse Bruhn Svendsen broke through into the international scene in 2014 with a series of productions and enchanting live performances at some of the most avant garde places to play on the earth, such as BOOM festival, Fusion, Burning Man, Symbiosis, Rainbow Serpent and AfrikaBurn. ​“‘Man O To’ is a track that has touched th​ e hearts of many, including my own,’ Svendsen explained.​ ‘Being asked to add a new chapter to its story is both an honor and my greatest challenge to date.”

Antrea: Could be the name of a planet from a Sci-Fi movie. A world with bazaars and temples that are reminiscent of ancient human cultures, but with holograms and all sorts of wondrous spacecrafts hovering through the air. So Antrea is a great name for an EP that sounds as huge and epic as if it really was the soundtrack for this kind of Sci-Fi movie. Even that seedy bar where adventurous aliens and space travelers from all corners of the galaxy hang out has been transcribed into sound: Four different remixes add a proper dose of transdimensional drive to the dream-like boost of the original tracks.
