DJ, producer, vocalist – Colette has grown from an integral part of the Chicago underground into a breakout musical triple-threat releasing her most accomplished and fully realized artistic statement to date. Combining the tunefulness of classic pop songs with the thump of classic house of her hometown, the album ventures into new sonic territory for Colette, from intimate bedroom beats to stadium-shaking dance anthems. When the Music’s Loud is the sound of an artist at the peak of her powers. 

 

My musical journey started in Southern California where I first picked up a pair of drumsticks at the age of 8 years old. By the time I was 12 I was playing in professional bands and winning company picnic talent shows where they called me “Little Buddy Rich”. My parents would routinely wake me up to play a drum solo and impress their dinner guests during late night card games. Since I started very young there were not many kids my age I could jam with, so I soon learned how to play guitar and started writing songs around age 13. I was always interested in becoming a professional musician and artist. Being impatient and always wanting to hit the big time I was in and out of bands faster than most players. Some noteables were The Naughty Women (a trailblazing Orange County punk band. When I quit my replacement on the drums was Izzy Stradlin of Guns N Roses fame). Pandemonium (a heavy metal band where I aced the audition, beating out a guy named Steven Adler… who would go on to join Guns N Roaes just a year later). Redd Kross, renowned OG punk band turned power pop icons. Noize Toys, a glam rock band I formed and wrote songs for. We were big in the city of Commerce! W.A.S.P. short lived stint with one of Americas most controversial “shock rock” bands. Engines of Aggression, a group of my own design where I decided to take the mic and be a frontman. We got a major label record deal within 6 months of forming, played shows with Korn, System of a Down, Henry Rollins and Danzig to name a few. We toured, put out 2 albums then imploded. Following Engines I just kept writing songs in any genre that I felt like which turned into a decade long career producing music for television. I’ve had tracks in the Superbowl, the World Series and dozens of different network tv shows. In 2024 I am revisiting Engines of Aggression due to quite a bit of prodding and cajoling by fans who feel my work there is unfinished. We’ll see how this goes… I’m feeling good about it. Looking forward to a new version of EOA to unleash on the world.
