When most people set out to create studies to enhance their skills the subject matter typically ends up being something evocative. Naturally, I made one of Undertale/Deltarune era Toby Fox lol.

My main takeaway from this exercise is that Fox's bread and butter are melodies that are simple yet catchy, with the appropriate backing and percussion to supplement them. My goal was to pursue this line of thought to the best of my ability, utilizing the same sort of rhythms throughout the track, most of which can even be heard in the first few seconds. Thematically, I can see this being an upbeat area theme in the first half but it loses all pretense of that once the shreddage and UGK kick in so who knows. In his defense, his repertoire is larger than most people give him credit for but I stuck with something familiar since that seems to be his signature style.

As for what Madeline from hidden indie gem Celeste is doing in the thumbnail with Toby, I don't really have an avatar to represent myself so I just drew her. As for why her specifically, something about heat from fire, don't look too deep into it haha.

Next up is Lena Raine or Flashygoodness, I can't decide which one would end up being cooler.

In this take, Queen is based on "Internet Explorer" severely infected with a "Lady Chrome Q.exe" malware instead of a computer. Her name is "(0D31!N3 {cODELINE}". Her motivation for world domination is to advantageously resurface the past; the glory of old days, where people lived simpler and better lives. She wanted to prevent all the unnecessary and questionable changes, especially those that have been effectively destroying everyone's life. Additionally, she's much more intrigued by outdated or dead memes than the recent ones.

You start walking away from the scene of your crimes after ensuring the people around you that you're okay and that they should stay on the lookout for anyone who might be trying to leave the Underground. You get quite a ways away from the mountain, far enough that nobody seems to be around.

You begin hearing screams coming from the mountain. Screams you can't quite say you recognize. The screams, they get louder and louder and seem to be approaching quickly, and the closer they get the more screams you start to hear that come and go rather quickly.

You turn around, looking back on the commotion. And that's when you see them.

Undyne and Papyrus have charged through the onslaught of humans and are more than determined to bring an end to you. Even Papyrus sees no more redeeming qualities in you, someone who's willing to kill even their *own* kind. You might be stronger, but they're not ready in the slightest to give up. Freedom is within reach, to let you kill them would put to waste everything they've had to do to even get here.

I didn't want to break the narration too much so I'll address here how exactly this might work. Undyne has her eyes set on one goal and one goal alone. She basically barrels past whoever shows up to "take action", knocking them out cold. Undyne and Papyrus are pretty strong in their own rights and I think in this particular instance (especially given (this) Papyrus' familiarity with violence as a necessary evil) Papyrus wouldn't be trying to take some sort of moral high ground when they're some of the last monsters to even live at this point.

Undyne doesn't really think to take anyone's SOULs straight through their bodies, nor does she reasonably have the power to do so -- she was only really able to do that with the help of soul power to begin with. Instead she's just focused on catching up with the person who committed mass extinction upon monsterkind.

There's no more humans nearby to stop them anymore, but it's not like that would stop them.

Additionally: "How does Undyne even find out?"
There's a reason Papyrus was absent from the throne room, and it wasn't because he died. He simply went looking for Undyne. With no idea where she even went, it understandably took quite a while.
