"When I was asked to do a podcast for the Good Fruit series I was pleased to get an opportunity to share some sounds that captured my ear over the last couple of years. Sharing music with other people was a regular thing for me in the past but has become rather rare these days, and I recently felt the urge to reconnect on that level. As I see music as a celebration of life, this sound journey represents exactly that. Whether it's joyful rhythms or sorrowful melodies, they all have one thing in common: they make me feel alive. You'll hear sounds from the four corners of the earth, both grounding and uplifting. Tribal, rootsy, profound and raw. During the process, I tried to grasp what makes me like a particular piece of music and not another, and it became clear that, no matter what style, it is integrity which makes it reach deep into my soul. So I, too, offer you this sound journey, with integrity.

Sixt Black and White Session with FreeJ Rumi. Founder of the successful collective Soul Rebels, also partner in Kasheme, will play records on Saturday night. The famous Willisau jazz festival, where he worked as a kid, made him familiar with the international and local jazz scene. Furthermore, he embraced many other music genres and scenes like the broken beat in Bristol, hip hop and trip hop.

Ninth Black and White Session with DJ Soulsonic a/k/a Herr Wempe.
Mr. Wempe likes music with soul. He has been DJing with records for many years and has been hosting the monthly party series "Soul Gallen" at the Palace (St. Gallen) since 2010. The musical spectrum includes Motown classics, Northern Soul rarities, deep funk, rhythm'n'blues, dancefloor jazz, boogaloo, afro-beat, rocksteady etc. It doesn't matter if it's from the 60's or today, as long as you can dance to it. As DJ Soulsonic he co-founded the internationally successful event series "Rap History", furthermore he is co-owner of the record store "OOR Records" in Zurich.
