about Amilcare

Amilcare’s sensitivity for sound began early. As a child, he was captivated by the sonic worlds of Depeche Mode, David Bowie and The Cure, inspiring his first experiments with keyboards and drums. By his teenage years, this curiosity evolved into turntables and production — laying the foundation for the distinctive, narrative-driven sound he’s known for today.

His DJ journey began in 1996 at Zurich’s Bar 5 Akt. From there, Amilcare steadily built a reputation across Europe’s underground scene, earning recognition as a selector and producer with a deep connection to music culture.

In 2007, he moved to Ibiza, where he lived for over a decade, fully immersed in the island’s vibrant scene. He performed at SunSeaBar (powerde by Café del Mar as Resident DJ), Privilege, Pacha Hotel, Blue Marlin, KM5, Bay Bar (Space official Bar), Ushuaïa (as Resident DJ), diffrent exclusive private villa events and hosted a weekly show on Ibiza Global Radio. This period profoundly shaped his sound — a seamless blend of disco, Italo disco, house, techno, breaks and rare grooves, always rooted in emotion and authenticity.

Beyond his solo work, Amilcare explores multiple creative identities: as part of H:B:E:M (HistoryBeginsEveryMorning) with Dj Alpha B, and through projects like Creative Discotheque, Tropic of Capricorn and Translunar Activities. Each moniker reflects a different facet of his artistry, spanning a wide spectrum of underground electronic music.

He also co-founded the label God Made Us Funky Records back in 2013 and released his debut album on Harley & Muscle’s Little Angel Records, further showcasing his dedication to pushing underground sounds forward.

2020 saw the birth of HistoryBeginsEveryMorning Records, a vinyl-only imprint distributed worldwide by Smallblackdots. With contributions from the likes of Alex Neri, Ivan Iacobucci, Dan Piu, Spacetravel, Miki, Franco Falsini, Auto Union and Domenico Rosa, the label continues to embody their ethos: authenticity, craft and timeless music over fleeting trends.

For Amilcare, DJing and producing are more than performance — they are storytelling. Decades of digging, experimenting and playing have honed a sound that is both timeless and forward-thinking. Those who have experienced him behind the decks know: it’s never just a set, it’s a journey.
