q. pls introduce yourself

Hi! I’m Madelyn, aka Slowfoam. I’m a very curious artist, musician, and DJ currently based in Berlin.


q. is there a story behind the mix?

I made this mix in my favorite place in the world, watching a sunset and swatting away mosquitos in Bogliasco, Italy in the midst of a pretty intense time… so, it’s as cathartic and emotive as the moment was. 


q. what's the best way enjoy your mix?

Zoning out while cooking soup or on a slow autumnal walk. But, ideally, you can just listen to it anywhere that feels right.


q. describe a favourite object in your living room...

It’s this giant expanding foam sculpture that looks like a butterfly hanging above our couch; a memento from a special weekend with friends in Prague.


q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?

Yes! Too many! At this very moment, I’m developing a collaborative monthly show exploring utopia through sound called 'our tomorrow' on Internet Public Radio.

Jesse Dewlow has been releasing hypnagogic music under the name People Skills (Siltbreeze, Blackest Ever Black, Kashual Plastik) for more than a decade. This year he opened his output to include family band Eyes of the Amaryllis who have their first LP via London's powerhouse Horn of Plenty label coming out this week. For Wavering Forms  he compiled this mix of EotA approximate influences to celebrate the release.

Our next mix is by Laila Sakini. Her story is one of a reflection of her own imaginative and dosed work. And it set our day in motion perfectly. 
Expect a selection of unreleased songs from Melbourne friends, and music that touches the ambient, art pop and Illbient / Triphop territories.
While we are still in the midst of this global pandemic, that is not reflected in Laila Sakini's vibrant release output this year. Thank goodness some labels and artists are still able to keep pushing records that let us sunbathe in beauty in these cold times, and make our lives a little more beautiful in these days. 
Laila released this year a beautiful album on Total Stasis just before Covid kicked in, did an EP on Boomkat and Self Released 2 EPs.
As London-based, Australian DJ and musician, her work is characterized by serenity, friction and openness.
