Katlego "Kat" Makena is a house music vocalist and songwriter who reside in Stinkwater, Hammanskraal. He has amazed and awed, inspired and overwhelmed music lovers and fans around Pretoria with his Afro, cultural and indigenous taste to the House music genre. This young Artist’s reach and impact within the music industry increases with every musical project and musical performance. From the early stages of his teenage years where he discovered and realised his passion, talent and luv for the music industry, Kat is a unique artist with a range of experience in genres such as Kwaito, Hip Hop, Afro pop, Jazz and his latest and career explosion  House music.
During the days in his secondary school (2001), Kat realised his talent as a musician back in his middle school days in 2001, were he started focusing on kwaito, Hip Hop, and then he diverged into Afro pop and Jazz. While trying to find his ultimate inspiration and music genre that fulfil him as an artist and relish his talent, he fell into house music, to which became the genre that challenged him and fulfilled him as an artist.
With his Afro, cultural and indigenous elements to his music, Kat managed to release a House single called “Sanloma” in October 2012, an Afro, Cultural and indigenous beat comprises of somewhat and tribal drums that is making waves and has people dancing around Hammanskraal and other Pretoria areas. Currently the single ‘Sanloma’ is played by a local community radio called Moretele Communicty FM and some well know local Dj’s in Hammanskraal, Pretoria surroundings and other provinces.
While working on the hit single, he has worked on a number of unreleased hits, which are taking people by storm whenever he performs. With their tribal drums, indigenous afro elements and lyrics, Kat brings a whole new sound to the House scene.
