Self-produced British composer and recording artist for 25 years, Imogen Heap has released five solo albums, another as one half of Frou Frou and collaborated with countless and varied artists including Taylor Swift, Nitin Sawhney, Deadmau5, Eric Whitacre, Jeff Beck and Jon Hopkins. Her compositions and songs pop up in blockbuster and indie films as well as countless TV shows, are featured in underground rap and dance music and covered by the likes of Ariana Grande. As composer and arranger for one of the biggest hits in theatrical history, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, Imogen won the Drama Desk Outstanding Music in a Play award. As a sought-after speaker and performer, Heap hosted 2020’s Grammys Premiere Ceremony. Heap’s collaborative and multi-dimensional workflow attracts companies for commissioned works, leading to songs such as Tiny Human, the first song to distribute payments via a Smart Contract, and The Happy Song, a highly successful song for children in their early-years. Heap, recognised as an artist's artist, has won two Grammys and an Ivor Novello award. In recognition of her pioneering work at the intersection of music and tech, Heap has a hat trick of three honorary doctorates for the gestural music-ware 'MI.MU gloves' system and recently for ’The Creative Passport’, an integrated digital ID solution, empowering music makers to be the change toward a fair and flourishing music ecosystem. Adapt or Perish ist eine fünfköpfige englischsprachige Alternative Metal Band aus dem Raum Südniedersachsen/Harz.
Charakterisiert durch einen melodiösen weiblichen Gesang um Frontfrau May, treibende, schnelle und abwechslungsreiche Rhythmik der Drums gepaart mit depressiv drückenden Gitarren reicht das Repertoire von zarten Balladen über Crossover- von Rock und Metal bis hin zu Nu-Metal/Metalcore-Stilelementen.

Bio:

Als musikalische Ergänzung zum Neuen Deutsche Härte-Projekt „Mattschwarz“ verstanden, beschlossen Flopsi und Jens im Mai 2010 ein weiteres Projekt ins Leben zu rufen, das sich unter der Prämisse „Alternative“ bilden sollte. Schnell gesellte sich die Sängerin May zum Vorhaben. Die Suche nach einem geeigneten Bassisten stellte sich schwieriger heraus. Im September 2010 fand man dann in Sven den geeigneten Mann. Im November 2010 schied der 2te Gitarrist aus beruflichen Gründen aus. Nach mehrmonatigen Versuchen mit Ersatzgitarristen konnte man dann schließlich Mitte 2011 Marc für die Band gewinnen.
In Vollbesetzung zeichnete sich nun die endgültige musikalische Richtung heraus.
Seit November 2011 ist die erste Demo der Band zu hören, die sie in Eigenregie aufnahmen.
Nach diversen Rückschlägen in der Findung der geeigneten Besetzung soll 2012 nun endgültig das Jahr sein, in dem Adapt or Perish in die Öffentlichkeit tritt...

Nadine Shah’s fifth album Filthy Underneath is out now as the inaugural release on EMI North. The follow up to 2020's critically acclaimed Kitchen Sink and 2017's Mercury Prize nominated Holiday Destination. 

Three years might seem like a prolonged absence to some people, but it’s also a period of time in which the apparatus that holds your world in place can be dismantled and reassembled so that you can keep living, keep creating. Filthy Underneath chronicles a period of unprecedented turbulence in Nadine Shah’s life. And yet, the experience of listening to it is oddly life-affirming – a parade of ghosts spanning the entirety of Nadine’s thirty-seven years, moving with balletic beauty to the music that Nadine and long-time co-writer and producer Ben Hillier have created around them.  

On the lead single 'Topless Mother', her double-tracked harmonies converge with a physically irresistible groove. Inspired by a series of comically tense exchanges with a counsellor, the song alights on that counsellor’s unorthodox tendency to burst into tears if she felt she wasn’t getting anywhere with her patient.  

Speaking of the track Shah says: "It’s a song about a counsellor I worked with that I couldn’t get along with. I’m pretty certain the feeling was mutual. And I’m also pretty certain she’d find this funny. Some people just don’t click and some arseholes like me write songs about it."
