Much of kathryn Caine's career has been as a recording artist and songwriter with 8cd's to her credit.. I am a much better communicator when I am singing. Singing has always been my way of connecting to people as I am guarded in my everyday life. It is also about a higher power...about something greater than the here and now...It is about communication on spiritual level and It is not confined to any religion, it transcends religion. for me, it is universal and if I could walk around singing everything I would!! I have always loved gospel music because it speaks to everyday experiences of sorrow ,joy, forgiveness, and redemption. " She wrote every song, played all of the instruments, engineered,produced and mixed the entire project. It was a true labor of love. This latest  Cd has her signature high and lonesome gritty gospel vocals , but also stands out due to the exceptional songwriting and layering of choir like vocal harmonies. Stand out songs include "I believe" with biblical lyrics and redemptive chorus."Devil in The Pulpit" is an earthy sounding call and answer about watching out for wolves in sheep's clothing, "Love Always Wins" is a song about redemption ,forgiveness ,and love does always win.  "Prayer" is a heart wrenching prayer calling out to god"do you remember my name, do you recognize me". It is a song that speaks to doubt and loneliness. "I'm coming home" was originally released as christmas song and is a cry to return to all that love you. "Joy" is a song of hope and that even in the darkest times ,joy will come in the morning. "With me" is the most experimental of the tracks. Kathryn layered vocal and used reverb and echo to create a symphonic sound , yet still in keeping with the vintage gospel sound of the rest of the release. "Your Love is Sweet" is a song equating God's love to the simplest and preset in the world around us.The Gospel according to Kathryn Caine is a powerhouse of a CD with brilliant writing, powerful emotive vocals and will leave you, joyful, hopeful, and wanting more!
