I Felt Like I Was Flying, I Felt Like I Was Dreaming

I take a breath 
and ask of the tree that stands in front of me:
"Can you see me watching?
Can you breathe?
How do you know how to be?"

She says:
"Listen to the air for your answers;
Try not to be scared of a plan 
that's bigger than you
and more than you can understand.

But you can stand and sway,
bending with the wind,
dancing through your days
with a rose-coloured tint
that you can choose at any moment of the day." 

I take a breath
and ask of the flame that glows an emerald hue:
"Do you see your beauty?
Do you fear that your life is so fleeting?"

She says:
"In this moment, here, I exist
and giving into fear could make you miss 
the point of it all;
Don't wait for the curtain call

To stand and sway,
bending with the wind,
dancing through your days 
with a rose-coloured tint 
that you can choose at any moment of the day."

I take a breath
and ask of the earth sprawling under my feet:
"Can you heed my rushing?
Can you hold me down from floating?"

She said:
"Feel your body;
I am always holding down your feet
if you notice the roots that travel
from you into me.

And we can stand and sway,
bending with the wind,
dancing through our days
with a rose-coloured tint
that you can choose at any moment of the day."
