She runs the collective and label Bound, which has parties at esteemed NYC clubs and hosts world renowned DJs, visual artists and performers. Katie Rex: "This mix is made from the tracks that have been missing their club debut the last year. While most of them were released under restricted circumstances, their sound is expansive. I’ve been thinking so much about the spaces in which we consume music. Tracks that were made with high end speakers in mind were exclusively played off of laptops, in cars, and on earbuds. This mix represents the emergence from the liminal space."

With roots beginning in the Philadelphia rave scene, her passion for the underground has crossed genre boundaries and culminated into an in-depth knowledge of music and cultural trends after dark.  Inspired by the classic sounds of Detroit & Chicago as well as the rugged influence of industrial and invigorating sounds of dance music’s contemporaries, she curates a unique blend of dark acid bass lines with club inspired drum patterns into harsh industrial.  A sound caught in her first two tracks, "Francis VII," and, "He's a Cancer," released on Brooklyn's analogue & modular focused label Afterwave Records.  Her next release "Pressure," is to be released May 2017 on JUBILEE's third installment of her compilation series, "Magic City."

Katie Rex is a music producer & DJ based in Brooklyn, New York.

To New York City’s dance floors, the name Katie Rex, is a familiar mainstay. With roots beginning in the Philadelphia rave scene, her passion for the underground has crossed genre boundaries and culminated into an in-depth knowledge of music and cultural trends after dark. Rex’s sets fuse industrial sonic landscapes with ceiling busting rave anthems and the harsher sides of techno. She's shared the bill with top artists across genres, staying true to her passion for progressive sounds.

Rex’s infamous event series turned multifaceted lifestyle platform, BOUND, has received international acclaim with features from VOGUE, The New York Times, Vice, Resident Advisor, and many more. Marrying the celebration sex work and need for safer spaces for marginilized bodies headonistic enjoyment, BOUND has reached an audience that transcends any one location. They’ve hosted events outside of Brooklyn in Miami, Los Angeles, & Detroit. In February 2018 Rex released with first ever global fetishwear guide through BOUND. In December 2019 BOUND announced itself as a record label, specializing in special projects. The first release (following an inaugural compilation in January 2019) is a remix package for FEE LION with tracks from Silent Servant, Minimal Violence, Kontravoid, & Multiple Man.

Moving forward, Rex will follow up on her production projects with a debut EP coming in the Spring of 2020.
