For the next Blue Hour Music chapter, a special friend of the label’s family is stepping in. Hailing from the city of Delft, Dutch composer Spekki Webu delivers ‘Tenzan’, a forceful 4-track EP which might be the producer’s most ambitious project to date. Spawned from a place of personal reflection, Tenzan is the result of the ongoing cycle of life that has been influencing Webu since his early years. This philosophy was heightened after a fascination for mountains and a series of dreams about enlightenment on top of a sacred hill. These dreams later became reality after witnessing a ‘Tenzan’ (translated as ‘heavenly mountain’) during a trip in the Japanese wilderness. The cycle of life as represented by the heavenly mountain formed the spiritual direction to complete the narrative for this long-running Blue Hour project - as the leaves fell into place a new cycle began. Aligned in force and vigor, the A-side takes off with ‘Okada’, a grooving tension builder led by ominous melodies that drift off into the depths of the forests. Entering a state of empyrean elevation, ‘Horizon’ is a dub-induced peak-time roller of monumental grandeur. On the B side, the gears shift as ‘Solaris’ unveils a contemporary reinterpretation of 90s acid trance, fusing psyche-warping panned drones and minimalistic drum programming set to make blood pressures rise. Coming full circle, ‘Eion’ delivers euphoric salvation with a pulsating bassline guided by dreamy, repetitive soundscapes that reach for atmospheric heights. Vertigo-induced and wisdom-fueled, Spekki Webu opens the portal to the next cycle of sonic exploration marking the 25th release on Blue Hour Music.

As Amniote Editions proudly celebrates its 5th anniversary, the label is excited to unveil 'HoxV-2: Spekki Webu x Heliobolus - Phylogenetic Analysis,' the debut LP from long-time friend and collaborator, @spekkiwebu, also known as Heliobolus. This 11-track project, shaped by a full year of meticulous studio experimentation, represents a bold exploration of sound, merging experimental techno with cinematic elements. “This is a journey of intertwined storylines, akin to parallel universes that connect and diverge.” Spekki explains.

At the heart of Phylogenetic Analysis lies the narrative of Heliobolus, a story of continuous evolution across different lifetimes, where Spekki Webu finds himself trapped in a cycle of spiritual searching and physical transformation. Drawing inspiration from science fiction, the artist crafts a dual narrative between tracks that oscillates between the spiritual and the surreal. Spekki tells us: ”The track ‘White Room’ is inspired by an intense psychedelic experience where his perception was wiped out for the endurance of a lifecycle, while ‘Forest Hunter’ delves into a recurring nightmare of being pursued in the woods. Later in life, I revisited these woods in a psilocybin session.” This gives just a peek into the kafkaesque corridors of Spekkis’s mind, leaving lingering questions for the listener for the rest of the release.

This LP not only embodies Spekki's artistic evolution in between alter egos - but also reflects the essence of Amniote Editions' five-year journey of curating forward-thinking electronic music. With influences ranging from 90s Dutch Goa to tribal rhythms, Spekki infuses a groove and funkiness throughout the album, balancing dance floor energy with cinematic sound design. 'HoxV-2: Spekki Webu x Heliobolus - Phylogenetic Analysis' is a testament to both the artist’s and the label's commitment to pushing boundaries, making this release a landmark moment in their shared history.

A Strange Wedding kicks off the useless seconds catalog with 3 original tracks carefully produced and arranged to showcase his signature sound design at the cutting edge of futuristic techno-tribalism and minimalistic hi-fi trance.

First, Wormhole Breaker takes us on a journey through space and time, escaping furious psy-storms. Aqua Sourcing dives deep into space infrastructures, where resonating oily pipes made from an unknown alloy blend with the echoes of rusty excavating machinery drilling in search of precious liquid. Finally, Pressure comes as a restless ascending trip at full speed, reaching the climax of this hallucinatory journey through laminated space-time.

Wormhole Breaker re-emerges in two alternate realities, reshaped by Nadia Struiwigh and Patrick Russell. Nadia’s version is a mutating DnB roller designed to survive a hostile solar system, while Patrick’s distinctive rhythmic explorations make us swirl as if we were lost between those realities.

Com raízes profundas na cena litorânea de Natal/RN, Layback Tone é o mais novo lançamento de PsyTrance dos produtores MetaTones e Recode – União do CEO Simetria com um dos fundadores da lendária Hallu Crew, uma das coletivos de Psy Trance mais antigos e respeitados na música eletrônica potiguar.

A faixa nasce da interseção entre duas paixões: a música psicodélica e o surf. Produzida em momentos de imersão criativa após sessões de surf, Layback Tone é uma homenagem sonora à manobra “layback”, considerada uma das mais técnicas e desafiadoras do esporte. O vocal sampleado, extraído de uma videoaula de surf, ilustra com precisão esse gesto fluido e arriscado, reforçando a conexão direta entre a narrativa musical e o universo das ondas.

O título da faixa carrega um duplo sentido: ao mesmo tempo em que faz referência à manobra icônica do surf, também evoca um “tom descontraído” – atmosfera que permeia toda a construção da track. Musicalmente, Layback Tone é marcada por uma bassline reta e firme em sua introdução, evoluindo para uma versão oitavada no desenvolvimento e finalizando com um groove mais swingado e envolvente. Os timbres úmidos, texturas líquidas e ambientes giratórios criam um cenário sonoro que remete diretamente ao movimento do mar e à fluidez das ondas.
