Katumbella is a Singer/Songwriter/Actress from Angola, South-West of Africa. She started her solo career in 2012, with the release of her single, “Don’t Hold Me” available online, a Kizomba music style from Angola with some elements of R&B. Singing has always been in the veins of Katumbella. At a very young age she would practice at her parents’ bedroom and listened to a wide variety of artists such as: Angelique Kidjo, Miriam Makeba, Wess Madiko, Michael Jackson, Bonga, Michael Bolton, Phil Collins, Sting, Bon Jovi, Patti Labelle and many others. Her love for other genres of music makes her travel through Jazz, Pop, R&B, Afro and World Music influences.

In 2012 she started composing music soundtracks for Award Winning Movies from biGObi Productions. Her first music soundtrack contributed for the movie to win an African Oscar Award for Best Original Music Score. In that same year, Katumbella was nominated at the NAFCA African Oscars for “Best Female Voice Diaspora.”

In 2013, Katumbella toured to South Korea promoting her single, “Don’t Hold Me.” That same year she also earned a second Nomination at the African Oscars for “Best Female Artist Diaspora,” and collaborated on a music project, “The Bright Light Project” against Violence endorsed by the Mayor of Houston. To date, Katumbella has opened the stage for well-known international artists such as: Justino Delgado and has performed with Yuri da Cunha.

In 2014, Katumbella toured to San Francisco, California to help raise funds on a Kizomba show benefiting Breast Cancer Patients. She also released her Official Music Video Clip, “Mama Kudile,” and was Nominated at the Angola Music Awards 2014 in the category of “Best Popular Music of the Center of Angola” performing “Mama Kudile” followed by her released of an EP Album online entitled, “My Beginnings.” The EP Album has a compilation of 9 songs with emphasis on R&B, World Music from Angola (Kizomba, Tarrachinha, Kilapanga), Pop, Afro, and Soul.

Katumbella has been featured on Angola’s Newspaper Angolense as “A Star to Shine.” She has also been featured at LUX Magazine; at Angola’s Public TV Channel TPA 1, “Janela Aberta.” Interviewed for Angola’s Radio Mais 99.1 FM; Radio LAC 95.5 FM; The International Channel of the Angola National Radio 101.4 FM and for VOA, News of America. 2012 Performances:

February 25th – Majestic Theater in Dallas, Texas at the premier of “Lost in Abroad” her first movie soundtrack. The Majestic Theater is well known for having Hollywood performers; such as: Erika Badu, Jill Scott, and many others. 

April 4th – Angolan Peace Day event at the invitation of the Angolan Consulate in Houston, Texas opening for major Angolan artists like: Ary and Titica.

May 27th – Houston International Festival, Katumbella represented Angola interpreting songs of one of the veterans and father of Angolan music “Bonga” with the semba songs of Mulemba Xangola and Kisselengenha. What a coincidence that on that same day while Bonga was performing in Las Vegas; Katumbella was performing his songs in Houston. 

September 16th – North Carolina Theater for the NAFCA 2012 African Oscar Awards. Katumbella shared the stage with singers and Nollywood actors from different countries of Africa.

October 20th – Festival of African Arts, Culture, and Entertainment, a non-profit organization (NAMC) established in 
Houston, TX with the purpose of serving as a cultural bridge between Africa and the United States.

November 11th – Angolan Independence Day, at the invitation of the General Consulate of Angola in Houston. Katumbella will be performing among major singers from Angola; such as, Yuri da Cunha. 



Carlos Jefferson Garces Olaya, nombre de Pila del artista de musica urbana y compositor Jefferson D Lion aka “El Rompe Trochas.” Nacido en Buenaventura, Valle Del Cauca, Colombia el 16 de Agosto del 1986. 

Desde muy joven  empezó a componer temas inspirados por las cosas que lo rodean , el amor, la vida, la alegría, la fiesta y los sentimientos.

Su música es influenciada por una mezcla Afro Caribeña, Tropical Urbana las cuales utiliza como herramienta para experimentar con sonidos modernos y llenos de energía por los cuales lo describen como “El Leon”.

En sus comienzos fue parte de un grupo llamado B4 de Música Pop Baladas y el grupo de Hip Hop “Conexao” con el cual recibió mucho reconocimiento.

Ha compartido tarima y prensa con artistas de la talla de Pitbull, Joe Arroyo, Son De Cali, Binomio de oro, De La Ghetto, Farruko, Tito El Bambino, Nelson Freitas entre otros…

Su primer mixtape titulado “El Rompe Trochas” tuvo mucho éxito en lugares como Guinea Ecuatorial, Africa y ha trabajado con artistas de este continente como lo son Narkelly Pana, Jerry Didier, Nelson Freitas, Lute X El Extraordinario y otros…

Con su música pretende enamorar a sus oyentes y hacerlos gozar con su ritmo pegajoso que hace imposible mantenerte sentado. 

Actualmente se encuentra de vuelta de su primera gira de presentaciones en Mexico y esta presentando su album “El Rompe Trocha” un album lleno de energía con un sonido moderno donde mezcla estilos Afro con sonidos Latinos, Caribeños y Tropicales con un toque urbano.

Carlos Jefferson Garces Olaya, better known as “Jefferson D Lion” was born in Buenaventura, Colombia on August 16 1986. Since a very young age started writing lyrics inspired by his surroundings, life, love, happiness, party and feelings.

His music is heavily influenced by Afro Caribbean, Urban Tropical styles which he uses as a tool to experiment with modern sounds, full of energy for which he is known and why he received the name of “The Lion”

He formed part of a spanish pop group called “B4” and a Hip Hop group called “Conexao” in which he gained his recognition.

As a solo artist he has shared stage with artists like Pitbull, Joe Arroyo, Son De Cali, Binomio De Oro, De La Ghetto, Farruko, Tito El Bambino, Nelson Freitas and many others.

His first Mixtape Titled “El Rompe Trochas” was very successful in places like Equatorial Guinea, Africa and some of his song feature artists from this continent like Narkelly Pana, Jerry Didier, Nelson Freitas, Lute X El Extraordinario and others.

His goal as an artist is to make people fall in love and make them move with his flavorful rithm that makes it nearly impossible to stay seated.

Just coming back from his first tour in Mexico D’Lion is presenting his album “El Rompe Trocha” an album full of energy with a fresh new sound where new Afro-genres meet Latin, Caribbean, Tropical and Dance with an Urban touch.
