Whenever I've made a mixtape, I've found the idea of simply mixing two songs together as boring. My vision for mixes is to pretend that each part of a song is on its own turntable and that I can mix the song's individual parts together. This allows for endless possibilities. I am not the world's best DJ, but my mixes aim to be flawless because it is the world as I imagine it, not the world as it is and I believe very few DJ's could mix 8 parts at once. Hence the Octopus. The Octopus's many arts embody what I would hope to do as a DJ, although perhaps a slight bit more of dexterity would be needed. This is the vision I see within the music and hope that you enjoy it.
