Ornate is the next iteration of Häana's sound, moving in a direction of an epic cinematic immersion and embracing music as art. During the pandemic, Häana got involved on the mix engineering stage of her productions, and Ornate marks the start of a new phase of her artistic evolution. Ornate, the lead single on the ORNATE EP, is all about feeling dark yet elaborately or excessively decorated. Ethereal breathy icy vocals are contrasted with dark textured sound design, an enveloping in this rich gilded decorated environment. The ebbs and swells of the strings and piano interplay on the choruses really bring this piece to a beautiful culmination of emotive strength and dynamic movement.
