Following the release of his ‘Sacred’ EP on All Centre last month, DJ Pitch provides a mix of influences to give us a glimpse into his next record which is due out at the end of year via TT. Including a few sneak previews of the record, the moodbard mix features tracks from the likes of Lara David, Stone, SHE Spells Doom and Blastah x DJ Python. 

Based in London, DJ Pitch is very much community driven. Whether that’s through being a promoter or A&Ring for the labels he co-runs, TT and All Centre. Community is at the centre of everything he does. Last year he released his brilliant debut album ‘It's Not What You Said It's Because You Spoke’ on TT - the ‘Scared’ EP is his first release since then.

Untitled 909 Podcast 141: DJ Pitch

A spontaneous genre-spanning journey that goes to both light and dark places. This mix was made at home on a pair of CDJs that I recently got hold of. 

The last time I shared mixes on here was over a decade ago! Back then, soundcloud would take down tracks that didn’t have licenses for copyright-protected material in them, even if they were mixes, so there are no traces of them left behind (probably for the best given that my music taste was very different then). Glad policies have evolved over time and made doing this possible now.

✤ What was the inspiration behind this mix? 
This mix is an exploration of psybient and acidic textures prevalent in the proggy realm of dance music. Incorporating still fresh sounding tracks from as far back as 1993 to new releases as recent as this month, the mix is equally geared towards the dance floor and for headphone listening.
