Homage (Thank You) is a 25 track list mixtape which pays tribute to female rappers of color who've opened up doors for up and coming Portland rap artist KayelaJ. The tape goes in chronological order starting with Roxanne Shante, MC Lyte and Queen Latifah and then works it's way to artist such as Trina, Nicki Minaj and Young MA. KayelaJ navigates her way through the mixtape with lyrical ease rapping on hit songs of each artist while sticking to the original theme/message of each track. The project also includes brave vulnerable skits, conversations between KayelaJ and her mother. Although remixing/covering songs from others KayelaJ makes each track her own.
