g wrote these songs over the span of several years as she began the journey of healing wounds she avoided facing for so long. unbeknownst to her peers and family, as a teenager she was experiencing both mental and sexual abuse by the hand of a family friend who was also her music teacher. as she grew into adult hood and began processing her trauma, she began writing these songs. they were all written for her with the intention to someday be shared with her friends and loved ones so they could better understand her heart and experiences. 

"these songs are all unedited drafts. I thought about taking more time to record them but then came to the thought that the raw feeling I put into these drafts shouldn't be tampered with... all of these songs are 100 percent my feelings and thoughts. if you have ever experienced abuse in any way shape or form I hope these songs make you feel heard and understood. my deepest desire is for you to take that hard yet  necessary step towards  healing. your life is precious. step into your truth and let go of any shame. you are worthy, powerful and are NOT defined by what you've gone through. you are so much more. keep your head up. it really does get better".
