Iceland

A new kind of ambient for me, and the "material" behind this is improvisation on  electric violin, via a guitar amp.

Hopefully this will encourage me to use the violin more. Perhaps it'll become more audible, even!

Recorded in 2012 and originally titled 'Beard Boogie', 'Jams 'N' Jellies' is the first of many old songs that I'll be reworking and releasing in the next month or so. 

It's total nonsense, thanks in part to the lyrics being fuelled by a cookery book and too many nights in watching reruns of The Mighty Boosh.

We’ve long sought after a stand-alone release from the prodigious Devras Plexi here at Bricolage and today we get our wish with a six track audio kaleidoscope in the shape of his new “frequent inspirational chore” EP. 

It’s a bright and complex body of work that combines a colourful blend of prismatic textures that are slowly becoming symbolic to the stimulating productions of the Austin native. This EP sees him merge his distinctive tones and sound palettes together with glitchy elements and intricate, shifting melodic patterns. Ever morphing beats and that sense of dreamlike warmth, that he so often delivers with ease, take the sounds to another level as we get a glimpse into the world of an ambitious and colourful mind.
