Albanian pianist Inesa Gegprifti has established in the past eight years a versatile performing life by appearing as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout Europe and USA. Gegprifti’s repertoire choices have brought her to explore works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven (including performances on period instruments – Graf, Walther, and Götting), Chopin, Brahms, and Grieg up to Ravel, Prokofiev, Messiaen, Corigliano, and Salonen.

Inesa Gegprifti started her piano lessons at the age of 5 with Lali Hakiu and continued studying for eleven years with Valbona Kasaj at the National Artistic School “Jordan Misja”. In 2006 she began her international career in Italy, studying under Alberto Miodini, Igor Cognolato, and the distinguished pianist Dario de Rosa (Trio di Trieste). Upon graduating with a BM from the Boston Conservatory with Max Levinson, Gegprifti earned her Masters Degree from the Jacobs School of Music–Indiana University under the  acclaimed pianist Evelyne Brancart with whom she is currently pursuing her doctorate degree at the Frost School of Music–University of Miami. Throughout the years she has received meaningful artistic input from Menahem Pressler, Jonathan Bass, Ya-Fei Chuang, Maureen Jones, Peter Hill, and Michael Lewin among others.

Highlights of Gegprifti’s concert career include the 2012 performances with the National Radio Television Orchestra of Albania, and Indian Hill Orchestra under the baton of Bruce Hangen, as well as a series of chamber performances in Italy, Slovenia, and Puerto Rico. In collaboration with the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, she has performed Pablo Casals’ rarely-heard Piano and Violin Sonata at the Teatro Francisco Arriví in San Juan. Further, she was featured as a guest artist at “Vivace Vilnius International Summer Festival” in Lithuania, as well as at the International Portogruaro Festival “A tempo” in Italy, upon the invitation of artistic director Enrico Bronzi.

Inesa Gegprifti has won first prizes from national and international competitions such as: Arlington Concerto Competition – USA, “Paolo Spinchich Cup” International Competition, “Nuovi Orizzonti” International Chamber Music Competition in Italy, “Bitola Interfest” in Macedonia, “Young Musicians International Competition” in Kosovo, “Kenget e Tokes”, EPTA  International in Albania.

Currently residing in Miami, Florida, Inesa is also a Teaching Assistant for the piano department at Univerisity of Miami, as well as an active soloist and chamber musician. Future commitments include a recording of two piano albums of Albanian composer Kozma Lara as an attempt to introduce classical and folk influenced Albanian music to international audiences.
