At a recent joint meeting between the Crested Butte Town Council and the Gunnison County Commissioners, the topic of recreation management, and a "holistic" approach towards it, was a topic of converstaion.  

"Holistic" recreation management involves looking at the whole picture, from inter-connectivity, infrastructure, communication, and amenities.

Titans Track shines at the State Championships. West Elk Soccer U-18 had a rough week, but hopes to close the season strong this weekend. The 10th annual Growler is this weekend at Hartman Rocks. Bob Uecker's name is hard to spell.

5/24/17 - Sports Barrel

Vicky Roach-Archuleta has been standing on the corner of Virginia and Main in downtown Gunnison for 15 minutes every Friday at noon, for more than 14 years. Her message: peace.

8/4/17 - Honk for Peace

The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, a.k.a. the GMUG, has embarked upon its first new forest plan in 34 years. An open house was held recently in Gunnison as a way for locals to both understand the planning process and contribute suggestions.

KBUT is a community radio station serving Gunnison County, Colorado. Broadcasting since 1986, KBUT serves the Gunnison Valley through diverse on-air programs, volunteer opportunities open to all community members, and ongoing support for the area’s nonprofit organizations and educational institutions. Community radio is a significant facilitator of democratic ideals and civic participation and is an invaluable community resource, particularly for a rural and remote area such as Gunnison County.
