In a Memorandum of Understanding between the mining company and local, state, and federal agencies, the mining company will be responsible for helping to develop site-specific water quality standards for discharges into Coal Creek.

Ashley Bembenek is a consultant with the Coal Creek Watershed Coalition has been working on the early stages of remediation, and she says she is very pleased with the progress so far.
