I got some beyerdynamic Dt 1990 pro some of the best headphones and I do not use them at all I’ve come to learn that mixing in apple headphones are way better because if you can make them sound good in those your mix will sound good everywhere

If I use a compressor directly on a track, but blend the dry/wet; is this still parallel compression?

i often clip a analog plug in. because it´s an analoge sym and have enough headroom. u get intressting distortions in the red area^^ same with klanghelm and joe meek. and sometimes i use them in the green area.^^

Some solid tips for beginners.....some not so. Dont de breath as it removes the life out of the performance,  instead use volume automation or clip gain to reduce breath and control sibliance/plosives/clicks and pops. Try to avoid soley mixing in headphones....  invest in good monitors and treatment for the room you mix in. Invest in a good ad/da converter.....check your mixes in mono often. Remember, it's about vibe not loudness...

This was so awesome! One tip I'd like to add is keep your low frequency sounds likes kick drums and bass lines at a relatively lower volume than everything else. These tend to hog a lot of your sound space. Then when you add other sounds your master starts clipping. Then you'll be strugling and soloing tracks to find which track is the cullprit. But when you solo each track you'll find the master is not clipping anymore. That's because you're not listening to the entire mix. When you sandwich too much sound the sandwich turns into a fruit bowl. This was enphasized in this video but I just wanted to point out to keep your kicks and bass relatively lower to let those high frequencies shine.
