The ceramic material now used for dental crowns and hip implants can be made transparent. That's according to researchers at the University of California, Riverside. Since they know that the body will tolerate it in various applications, they're now working on making it into a "window to the brain." Masa Rao is Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, part of the UC Riverside team.
