George Morel broke new ground with his iconic track ‚Let’s Groove’ – defining a genre and a moment with his sound – a feat achieved by only a precious few. 
That was in 1992 – when techno & house was the new kid on the block. Now, 21 (!) years later we revisit this colossal track and fit it with some remixes, including one from the man himself.   Tom Trago, Claptone, Coyu and DJ T. and PBR Streetgang all take on the dinosaur and give it a new breath of life in 2013. 
The results are amazing, and even more so when we reflect on all that came between. An entire lifetime of music and celebration lead up to this point, and will continue long after – after all, it is the spirit of the music which never really dies.

The Original mix Worldcup from Kiko was released on 1998. It is one of the 10 favorite Techno tracks from Laurent Garnier and Jeff Mills and still is considered a techno anthem. 15 years later we felt the obligation of making an EP full of remixes including a revisited 2013 version from Kiko. We have managed to put together three of the best world's techno artists so they could do their interpretation of this Loveparade's hymn. The 2013 version from Kiko still contains that 90's touch but refreshed with an actual sound. The remix from Jerome Sydenham is using an old school bass kick making it look like from the last decade. On the other hand, we have two very up-to-date remixes from Hollen and Uto Karem. These are four different ways to interpret a track from 1998. Having already made a splash on Hypercolour and Losing Suki back in 2012 (‘Eyes’ EP and ‘Flow Control’ EP respectively), Bareskin makes a return to the roost in November with a sure fire packet of three.

Lead track ‘Distorted Symmetry’ is a deadly slab of pacey and techy house, its vocal bringing in a decent amount of soul to the proceedings.  A proper modern day house record, the production is first class, its reverberating and glitchy beats working a treat amongst the deep melody.

‘The Shape Of It’ comes deeper than a wizards sleeve, a twisted vocal hook held up with fat pads left, right and center, the minimal beats almost lending a pure ambient vibe to this one.  Bareskin AKA Josh Thompson, signs off with the cosmically titled ‘I Was Born To A Woman From Space’, a meaty beatfest, evoking shades of Mood II Swing at their dubbiest, with some extra terrestrial flutterings and deft keys holding up another cracking female vox line, defo one for the erection section.

After the sensation caused by its last release, Life and Death comes back strong with another battle cry into the darkness. With a prized new member of the family, Vaal, joining forces with a Life and Death mainstay, Tale of Us, the stage is set for another epic EP from the forward thinking label.

On the A side Concor grabs the listener with its immediate sense of urgency and a beckoning, slightly exotic melody. As it slowly twists and turns, moving ever more insistently towards its peak it propels the listener to a distant exotic land, as a throbbing beat and cymbals accentuate and elevate the tension. Already a mainstay of the few DJs lucky enough to get their hands on it early, this is sure to be one that will lodge itself deeply into the collective unconscious as we make the long march thru winter and back to summer again.

Over on the B side comes Seahnak, an equally beautiful piece of music that manages to present its intricate melody without ever letting its energy dip. Gothic and yet regal at the same time, as the lead synth shoots out the gate, it takes us on a surprising journey as it pushes the limits of what we might expect from dance music while raising our expectations of it in the process.
